Leaders from across Ontario gathered today to celebrate the grand opening of the newly revamped TD Coliseum. After 18 months and $300 million in renovations, the venue will kick off with a sold-out show by Sir Paul McCartney on Friday, November 21.
The Oak View Group led the transformation of this 463,000-square-foot space in downtown Hamilton. The new design focuses on technology, comfort, and hospitality, aiming to enhance the guest experience. “TD Coliseum is more than just a venue — it’s designed for the community,” said Chris Granger, Interim CEO of Oak View Group. “This arena shows what can happen when partnerships and bold ideas come together to create unforgettable experiences.”
Community leaders and dignitaries joined in the celebration. Speakers included Ontario Premier Doug Ford, TD Bank Group CEO Raymond Chun, Hamilton Mayor Andrea Horwath, Live Nation Canada’s Wayne Zronik, and TD Coliseum’s Nick DeLuco.
Premier Ford highlighted the venue’s potential, saying, “TD Coliseum is a world-class space that will attract visitors from all over. It will boost the city’s economy and help revitalize downtown Hamilton.”
Raymond Chun from TD Bank Group expressed pride in their community support, stating, “We believe music connects people and strengthens communities. Supporting music is about celebrating what makes our communities unique.”
The TD Coliseum promises a fresh fan experience with new technology and upgraded amenities. Fans can expect a smoother journey from arrival to encore, thanks to the TD Coliseum Mobile App, digital wayfinding, high-speed Wi-Fi, and easy food and drink options. The venue’s culinary program will showcase local flavors, while upgraded lounges and suites offer top-notch comfort. Backstage, artists will enjoy modern facilities and improved acoustics, making it a great place for performances.
