Badflower Frontman Discusses Mental Health Challenges While Touring

Badflower frontman Josh Katz is moving forward with the band’s tour despite facing vocal issues and mental stress. During a recent show in Salt Lake City, he stopped mid-performance and told fans he was quitting the tour. However, by Monday, he had a change of heart.

In a video shared on Badflower’s Facebook, Katz opened up about his struggles. “I had a full-on breakdown onstage at the last show,” he said. “I sort of announced to the crowd that I’m done with this tour ’cause I’m so stressed out with this voice thing.” He explained that his mental health has been more affected than his physical voice. “It’s messing me up on a mental health level a lot more than it is on a physical level,” he added. “Not knowing what’s wrong and what kind of performance I’m going to give is really tough. I don’t know until that first note onstage, and then I have an hour-and-a-half show in front of a thousand people. The pressure is a bit too much.”

Katz received support from fellow musicians who reached out with advice and encouragement. “So many singers have contacted me with incredible support, and others are going through similar struggles,” he shared. “The important thing for me right now is that I feel supported mentally.” This support has given him the strength to continue performing and stay committed to his music career.

The tour is in support of Badflower’s latest album, “No Place Like Home,” set to release in 2025. Fans can check out all tour dates and ticket links to catch the band live.
