Brian May to Host Instagram Live Stream Launch Event for Queen II Reissue

Brian May, the guitarist of Queen, will host a special gathering in London on March 26 to celebrate the launch of the remastered edition of the band’s 1974 album, Queen II. The 78-year-old musician shared the news on social media, announcing that the event will be streamed live on his Instagram account.

The venue for the gathering is described as “very intimate,” but May hopes to connect with fans around the world through his live stream. He expressed his wish to host a larger event, saying, “I wish it were a big place so we could invite you all … but this is very intimate.”

The remastered Queen II will be available on March 27 as a five-CD and two-LP box set. This package features a new 2026 mix of the album, along with bonus materials like outtakes, demos, live tracks, and radio sessions. One of the highlights is “intimate fly-on-the-wall audio” from the band’s recording sessions. The collection also includes a 112-page book filled with photos, handwritten lyrics, and other memorabilia.

Brian May recorded the original album with Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon. This remaster follows the October 2024 reissue of the band’s debut album, which included a remixed version with 63 tracks, demos, and rare live performances.

May has been sharing behind-the-scenes clips from Abbey Road Studios as he worked on the project. On February 10, he posted about remixing the album in Dolby Atmos, saying, “I’ve wanted to do this for the last 53 years.”

The reissue will also be available as a two-CD deluxe edition and on one-LP vinyl. The exact location of the London gathering has not yet been revealed.
