Avatar has just dropped a new song titled “Death and Glitz,” which is part of their upcoming album, *Don’t Go in the Forest*. Frontman Johannes Eckerström describes the song as exploring themes of perversion and detachment. The story follows a young homeless runaway who collapses and dies on a dancefloor. Eckerström explains that the crime scene tape turns into a red velvet rope, and the investigator’s camera flashes like paparazzi at a red carpet event. He adds, “We love her for dying. Now, she’s perfect. Obedient. Anything you want.”
*Don’t Go in the Forest* is set to be released on Halloween, October 31. The album will also feature previously released tracks like “Captain Goat,” “Tonight We Must Be Warriors,” and “In the Airwaves.”
In addition to the new music, Avatar will kick off a U.S. tour in November. Fans can look forward to an exciting lineup and a chance to see the band perform live. Stay tuned for more updates!
