Chicago Exhibition to Showcase Iconic Photos of Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and More

Photos of iconic bands like Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana will be featured in an upcoming exhibition in Chicago. Titled “Alternative Nation: A Retrospective,” this show is presented by Behind the Gallery. It offers a raw look at the rise of alternative music and culture from the 1990s to the early 2000s.

Stephen Dallimore, the founder and curator of Behind the Gallery, describes the exhibition as more than just a nostalgic trip. He calls it a time capsule of a period when music was bold, emotional, and deeply human. Each photographer had a close connection with the bands, and that bond shines through in their work. Dallimore emphasizes that the exhibition is “raw” and “real,” and he believes it’s long overdue.

In addition to Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana, the exhibition will also showcase artists like Alice in Chains, Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, The White Stripes, Björk, and Danzig.

“Alternative Nation: A Retrospective” will be open from August 15 to August 20 at the Chicago cocktail bar After. Don’t miss this chance to see some incredible moments from a defining era in music!
