Coheed and Cambria has released a new version of their song “Goodbye, Sunshine,” featuring Nick Hexum, the lead singer of 311. The updated track is called “Goodbye, Sunshine (Endless Summer)” and has a fun, beachy vibe that sets it apart from the original.
The band was inspired to rework the song after performing a stripped-down version during a radio show. Frontman Claudio Sanchez said, “We enjoyed the version so much, we chose to explore it further by enlisting the help of 311’s Nick Hexum and dub producer The Scientist.”
“Goodbye, Sunshine (Endless Summer)” comes with a music video that pays homage to Coheed’s earlier video for “A Favor House Atlantic” and the 1986 film Club Paradise. You can check it out on YouTube.
The original “Goodbye, Sunshine” is part of Coheed’s latest album, The Father of Make Believe, which was released in March. Right now, Coheed and Cambria is on tour in the U.S. to promote the album, alongside Taking Back Sunday.
