Eminem Commemorates 25th Anniversary of ‘The Marshall Mathers LP’ with Special Vinyl Reissue

May 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of Eminem’s legendary album, The Marshall Mathers LP. To celebrate, a special vinyl edition has been released, featuring two live bonus tracks: “The Real Slim Shady” and “The Way I Am,” recorded at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

The Marshall Mathers LP debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and stayed there for eight weeks. It stirred up both praise and controversy, but its influence on pop culture is undeniable. Rolling Stone named it the best album of 2000, and it won Best Rap Album at the 2001 Grammys, although it lost Album of the Year to Steely Dan’s Two Against Nature. Today, the album is certified 12x platinum and Diamond by the RIAA.

The first half of the album was produced by Dr. Dre and Mel-Man, while Eminem and the Bass Brothers handled the second half. It produced three major hits: “The Real Slim Shady,” “The Way I Am,” and “Stan.” “Stan” has had a huge impact on music culture, giving rise to the term “stan” for devoted fans. However, the biggest hit from the album was “The Real Slim Shady.” This track was added just hours before the album’s release, created to ensure it had a standout song like “My Name Is” from The Slim Shady LP.
