Halsey Celebrates 10th Anniversary of ‘Badlands’ with New ‘Drive’ Music Video Release

Halsey is celebrating the tenth anniversary of her debut album, BADLANDS, this month. Following the release of the music video for her fan-favorite track “Gasoline,” she has now dropped a new video for “Drive.” This video continues the story Halsey began a decade ago with earlier songs like “New Americana” and “Castles.”

In 2015, Halsey introduced a dystopian narrative in the “New Americana” video, where she led a group of rebels. Her character, sporting a dark blue pixie cut, makes a return in the “Gasoline” video. The “Gasoline” video also features Tyler Posey, known for his role in Teen Wolf, who previously appeared in the “Colors” video, which followed “New Americana” when BADLANDS first came out.

“Drive” stands out on BADLANDS for its upbeat vibe. Halsey described it as her first happy song, saying, “It’s an optimistic song about being in love and not knowing how to express it.” She added that it symbolizes her departure from the BADLANDS era.

Throughout August, Halsey has been celebrating BADLANDS with special releases, including three vinyl editions of the album. One of these is BADLANDS – Live From Webster Hall, recorded in 2019. Halsey reflected on the past decade, saying, “So much has happened, but BADLANDS remains the most exciting musical journey of my life.”

Fans can now order a 10th anniversary edition of Halsey’s BADLANDS.
