My Chemical Romance rocked Chicago’s Soldier Field on Friday, and they had a special guest join them on stage. Billy Corgan, the frontman of The Smashing Pumpkins and a Chicago native, surprised fans by performing “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” with Gerard Way and the band. MCR has been covering this song during their summer tour.
Corgan shared clips of the performance on his Instagram Story. He also posted a photo of a video screen that displayed the message, “Regardless of expressing immense frustration, vermin are to remain caged at all times,” which references the lyrics of “Bullet with Butterfly Wings.”
My Chemical Romance’s U.S. stadium tour is still going strong. They will continue on September 7 at Boston’s Fenway Park and wrap up on September 13 in Tampa, Florida. Each night, the band is playing their iconic 2006 album, The Black Parade, in its entirety. Fans are loving the energy and nostalgia of these shows!
