Iron Maiden Unveils 40th Anniversary Vinyl Reissue of ‘Live After Death’

Iron Maiden is celebrating the 40th anniversary of their live album, *Live After Death*, with a special vinyl reissue. This two-LP set will be available on December 12. It features the 2015 remaster of the original album, which was recorded during their World Slavery Tour in support of the 1984 album, *Powerslave*.

Bassist Steve Harris reflected on that busy time, saying, “We were touring our a off. It was literally just, ‘record, tour, record, tour’ – we didn’t stop.” He added that their manager, Rod Smallwood, kept them motivated, which was crucial for their success. “We were totally up for it. You think you’re invincible – ‘Yeah, we’ll take that on, no problem,'” Harris said. He noted that this relentless approach was necessary since they had no radio play back then.

The reissue will also include a replica of a 24-page tour program and a tour pass. Fans can look forward to an essay featuring interviews with Harris, Smallwood, and drummer Nicko McBrain.

In other news, frontman Bruce Dickinson recently performed the U.S. national anthem at a hockey game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Colorado Avalanche. This isn’t his first time singing “The Star-Spangled Banner”; he previously did it at an NFL game featuring the Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers. Keep an eye out for more updates from Iron Maiden!
