Jimmy Page resolves songwriting credit conflict with ‘Dazed and Confused’ creator.

In 2011, Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page and songwriter Jake Holmes settled a copyright dispute over the song “Dazed and Confused,” which Holmes originally wrote in 1967. As part of the settlement, Zeppelin’s version was credited as “written by Jimmy Page, inspired by Jake Holmes.”

However, earlier this year, Holmes filed another lawsuit against Page after the release of the documentary *Becoming Led Zeppelin*. Holmes claimed that Page had released several recordings of The Yardbirds performing “Dazed and Confused,” which incorrectly credited Page as the author. According to the original settlement, The Yardbirds’ version was always credited to Holmes.

The documentary also featured two performances of “Dazed and Confused,” including one by The Yardbirds. Holmes argued that this performance was again wrongly credited to Page.

On Friday, Holmes announced that a settlement had been reached, resolving the entire case. The specific details of the settlement were not disclosed.
