After a ten-year break, McDonald’s is bringing back its popular Monopoly game on October 6, 2025. This marks its first return to the U.S. since 2015. The fast-food chain has revamped the game with new app features, making it easier to play. “Customers have been clamoring for the return,” said McDonald’s USA’s chief marketing officer.
The classic paper-only game is getting an upgrade. You can still peel off game pieces, but now you can also collect property pieces through the McDonald’s app. Players have a chance to win big prizes, including a million dollars in cash, a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, and a Winnebago. Other prizes include a $50,000 dream vacation, $10,000 to spend at Lowe’s, and a million airline miles from American Airlines.
Game pieces are available on over 30 menu items, including Quarter Pounders, Egg McMuffins, and large fries. Winners can snag free Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuits, Double Cheeseburgers, or Snack Wraps. Plus, using the app gives players bonus chances to win with every piece they scan.
The Monopoly game was a huge hit when it launched in 1987, but it faced trouble in 2001 when a major scam was uncovered. After that, McDonald’s replaced the game with “Game Time Gold” in 2015. The new 2025 version comes with better security and clear rules, so get ready to try your luck!
