Morrissey has canceled another show, and this time the reason is quite unusual. Ahead of his concert in Valencia, Spain, on Thursday, he arrived at his hotel after a long two-day drive from Milan. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get any sleep because of loud festival noise, including techno music and megaphone announcements.
A message on the Morrissey Central website explained that this lack of rest left him in a “catatonic state.” The post advised fans to check if the show could still happen under these conditions. Later, a follow-up message confirmed that the concert was impossible due to his sleep deprivation.
Morrissey described his hotel experience as “indescribable hell,” saying it would take him a year to recover. The venue’s website now states that the concert is “canceled due to circumstances beyond the promoter’s control,” and refunds will be issued.
Despite this setback, Morrissey is still scheduled to perform in Zaragoza, Spain, on Saturday, if he can manage to get some rest. His new album, *Make-up is a Lie*, was released earlier in March. Fans will be hoping for better luck at the next show!
