Nothing More has just released the video for their song “EXISTENTIAL DREAD,” from their latest album, CARNAL. The video features a mix of striking visuals, including hooded figures submerged in a river of gold. Some fans noted that it looked like it was created using AI.
In response, frontman Jonny Hawkins clarified, “AI didn’t make a video for us. We hired an artist, and I laid out a vision, theme, and visuals. The artist, Tristan, used AI to generate images, which he then edited together with multiple versions and notes to create the final visual experience.”
Hawkins challenged critics, saying, “If you think it’s ‘just machines creating it,’ I’d love to see you create something as compelling as Tristan did for the same price with different tools. Outdo him if you believe that’s true.”
You can now watch the “EXISTENTIAL DREAD” video on YouTube. CARNAL was released in 2024, and a deluxe version came out in March. Both versions have produced several #1 hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, including “IF IT DOESN’T HURT,” “ANGEL SONG” featuring David Draiman from Disturbed, “HOUSE ON SAND” featuring Eric Vanlerberghe from I Prevail, and “FREEFALL” featuring Chris Daughtry. (Note: The video contains uncensored profanity.)
