Ozzy Osbourne’s Hometown Soccer Team to Honor Rock Legend with Tribute at Season-Opening Game

Aston Villa, the soccer team from Birmingham, England, is set to honor the late Ozzy Osbourne during their opening game of the 2025-26 Premier League season. The match will take place on Saturday at Villa Park, the same venue where Ozzy and Black Sabbath performed their Back to the Beginning concert on July 5.

Before the game kicks off, fans can look forward to a special video tribute to Ozzy on the stadium’s big screens. As the players walk out onto the field, they will be greeted by the iconic sounds of Ozzy’s “Crazy Train” from that memorable performance.

In the Fan Zone, Bostin Brass will play a selection of Ozzy and Black Sabbath songs. This brass band also played during Ozzy’s public funeral procession in Birmingham, making their performance even more meaningful.

Fans attending the game will have the chance to sign a book of condolences in the team store. This book will later be presented to the Osbourne family as a tribute to the music legend.

Aston Villa expressed their pride in remembering Ozzy Osbourne and his connection to the club. Ozzy passed away at the age of 76 on July 22, just over two weeks after his last performance. This tribute is a heartfelt way for the team and fans to celebrate his legacy.
