Pennsylvania’s Thanksgiving Outlook From the Farmer’s Almanac

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and the weather forecast is in! Earlier this month, it was predicted that we’d have a “mild” Thanksgiving, and that still holds true for many parts of the U.S. However, the weather will vary depending on where you are.

Weather matters during the holidays, especially with so many people traveling. Knowing what to expect can help you plan your trip and arrive safely. Last year, nearly 80 million travelers hit the road for Thanksgiving, and we’re expecting similar numbers this year.

For Thanksgiving week, the forecast shows a mix of weather across the country. The East will enjoy plenty of sunshine, while the West is set for rain. Some northern areas, like northern New England and the Upper Midwest, might see a few snowflakes, which could impact travel.

Temperatures will also vary widely. Expect warmer weather in Texas and the Deep South, while New England and the Western U.S. will be cooler than usual. The West Coast is likely to experience the heaviest rain, especially in California and Nevada, with some light showers in the Desert Southwest and Ohio Valley.

In our area, it’s time to bundle up! It’s going to be colder than average, but southern regions can look forward to a crisp, sunny Thanksgiving. This is great news for morning parades and holiday walks, but if you’re driving up north, be prepared for some chilly conditions.

So, get ready for Thanksgiving week and keep an eye on the weather!
