Pink Floyd’s 50th anniversary reissue of *Wish You Were Here* has taken the top spot on the U.K. Official Albums chart, making it this year’s Official Christmas #1 album. It’s been over 50 years since the original album first reached number one, giving Pink Floyd the record for the longest gap between their first and last chart-toppers. The previous record was held by The Beatles, who had a 49-year and 252-day gap between *Abbey Road* and *Number 1s*.
Despite being around since 1965, Pink Floyd continues to shine on the charts. *Wish You Were Here 50* is their second #1 album of 2025, following *Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII*, the soundtrack to their concert film released earlier this year. This marks the first time Pink Floyd has had two #1 albums in the same year.
While this is their first Official Christmas #1 album, Pink Floyd did have a Christmas #1 single back in 1979 with “Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2.”
In addition to the album release, Pink Floyd has just dropped the official video for the iconic title track, featuring archival footage of the band and animated visuals. Fans of the band have plenty to celebrate this holiday season!
