Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes discusses their new album, ‘A Pound of Feathers’

The Black Crowes are back with a new album titled *A Pound of Feathers*, recorded in just eight days. Guitarist Rich Robinson shared that this quick process is typical for him and his brother, Chris Robinson. “We’ve always worked this way,” he said. “This time, we just decided to wing it and see what happens.”

Rich explained that they work fast in the studio, and their producer, Jay Joyce, keeps up the pace. “By the end of the first five days, we had nine songs done. That was pretty cool,” he noted.

One of the singles from the album is “Profane Prophecy.” Rich describes it as a fun song with a carefree spirit. “It’s kind of a love letter to rock ‘n’ roll music,” he said. He believes the album showcases a wide range of influences while still sounding like a classic Black Crowes record.

*A Pound of Feathers* follows their 2024 album, *Happiness Bastards*. Rich is excited about the band’s recent output and would love to keep making music at this pace. “I would make a record a year indefinitely,” he said. “It’s something I love to do.”

*A Pound of Feathers* is available now.
