Scott Ian of Anthrax recently captured the excitement of metal fans everywhere by getting his hands on a signature Fender Stratocaster from Iron Maiden guitarist Dave Murray. In a video shared on his Instagram, Ian celebrated his new guitar by playing the iconic riff from “The Trooper,” one of Maiden’s classic tracks. He captioned the post, “Got the new Dave Murray Strat … and of course this is the first riff I played (too fast) on it. The guitar is SWEET!!!”
Fans can look forward to seeing Ian showcase his Maiden-inspired skills when Anthrax opens for Iron Maiden on select dates of their U.S. tour in September 2026. This tour is highly anticipated, as it will feature two legendary bands sharing the stage.
