Shirley Manson from Garbage shares her opinions on beach balls at concerts.

Shirley Manson of Garbage has some strong feelings about fans bringing beach balls to concerts. During their recent tour in Australia, she encountered a fan with a big beach ball and didn’t hold back her thoughts. In a clip shared on social media, she sarcastically said, “Guy with your big f beach ball, ooh, I’m so scared of you, so thrilled by you. What a f dbag.”

Manson later took to Threads to explain her dislike for beach balls at shows. She stated, “I make NO APOLOGIES whatsoever for getting annoyed at beach balls at shows. I joined a band because I HATED THE F BEACH.” She expressed her desire to create music inspired by artists like Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Cure, emphasizing a darker, more serious vibe.

Manson continued, “Continue listening to Spotify and toss your stupid beach balls around like you are ten years old. I love the musical community and I want to respect their artistry. I am so tired of folks taking music for free and treating us all like circus performers.”

Given that one of Garbage’s biggest hits is “Only Happy When It Rains,” Manson’s feelings about beach balls make sense.

Garbage recently released a new album titled *Let All That We Imagine Be the Light* in May. They wrapped up a U.S. tour in November, which they announced would be their “last North American headline tour.
