Siouxsie and the Banshees are welcoming fall with a spooky twist. The iconic British rock band has announced a limited CD version of their compilation album, All Souls, originally released in 2022. This new edition will be available on Halloween, October 31.
Compiled by frontwoman Siouxsie Sioux, All Souls features songs that explore themes of the supernatural, the occult, and death. It also includes nods to the Day of the Dead and Halloween, celebrating the autumn equinox and its festivities. The 10-track collection includes fan favorites like “Spellbound” and “Halloween” from the 1981 album Juju, the standalone single “Fireworks,” and “Peek-A-Boo,” which was Siouxsie and the Banshees’ last UK Top 20 hit in 1988. It also features rare B-sides like “El Dia De Los Muertos” and “Supernatural Thing” from the 2004 box set Downside Up.
The cover art for All Souls is also special. Designed by Siouxsie, it features a marigold, a symbol of the Mexican Day of the Dead festivities, set against a black background. All tracks were remastered at Abbey Road Studios, with Siouxsie overseeing the process, and cut at half-speed by Miles Showell.
Siouxsie and the Banshees are known as pioneers of the post-punk era, debuting in 1978 with The Scream and concluding their musical journey with The Rapture in 1995. Their Once Upon A Time/The Singles – 1978 to 1981 collection was reissued on vinyl in December 2020. Be sure to check out Siouxsie & The Banshees’ music on vinyl or CD!
