Slayer is celebrating the 40th anniversary of their 1985 album, *Hell Awaits*, with a special reissue. The reissue will be available on May 15 in both three-LP and three-CD formats. Alongside the original tracks, fans can enjoy 18 bonus live recordings. You can preorder both editions now through Metal Blade Records.
In addition, Slayer is offering a limited-edition “blood-filled” vinyl version of *Hell Awaits* exclusively on their web store. Only 666 copies will be made, so fans will want to act fast!
To mark this milestone, Slayer has also launched the Slaytanic Verses online museum, featuring interactive tour notebooks from 1985.
Looking ahead, Slayer will celebrate another big anniversary in 2026 when their iconic album *Reign in Blood* turns 40. They plan to perform the album during their set at the Sick New World festival in Fort Worth, Texas, on October 24.
