The Pretty Reckless is set to release their new holiday EP, “Taylor Momsen’s Pretty Reckless Christmas,” on Friday in physical formats, following its digital launch in October. The EP features a special version of “Where Are You Christmas?,” a song that frontwoman Taylor Momsen originally performed as a child in the 2000 film *How the Grinch Stole Christmas*.
Momsen, who gained fame from her role in *Gossip Girl*, stepped away from acting to focus on her music career with The Pretty Reckless. She has often distanced herself from her acting past, but revisiting “Where Are You Christmas?” allowed her to connect both parts of her life.
“It was something that fans have been asking for since I started The Pretty Reckless, and I never thought I would do it,” Momsen shared. After a tough period in her life, she reflected on her journey and decided to give the song a new life. “We jammed it as a band during the holidays, and by the end, we all had huge smiles on our faces.”
With this EP, Momsen aims to spread joy during the holiday season. She describes the project as a way of accepting her past and integrating it into her future. “It’s a Christmas record,” she laughs, “but it’s kinda deep.”
In addition to the holiday EP, The Pretty Reckless has also released a new single, “For I Am Death,” which is currently topping the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.
