The Flaming Lips have added four new cities to their 2026 world tour. On March 2, they announced stops in Mexico City, London, Jakarta, and Louisville on Instagram. This expansion makes their tour one of the most ambitious in years.
The band will kick off their new dates in Mexico City at Velódromo Olímpico on April 18. They will then perform at Somerset House in London on July 25. Fans in Jakarta can catch them at LALALA Fest on August 22. Finally, they will wrap up this leg of the tour at the Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville on September 25.
Formed in 1983, The Flaming Lips gained fame in the 1990s with albums like *Transmissions from the Satellite Heart* and the GRAMMY-winning *The Soft Bulletin*. Their live shows are known for their wild energy, featuring confetti cannons, giant balloons, and frontman Wayne Coyne performing inside a huge inflatable bubble.
Coyne once shared a memorable moment from their shows in Texas when they used fireworks on stage. “We bought a bunch of fireworks and shot them off while we were playing,” he said. “It hit my bandmates, the audience, and the ceiling. No one should ever do that. But we did it. We got away with it. And we will never do it again.”
More than 30 years after their rise to fame, The Flaming Lips continue to explore new places around the world. Tickets for their shows are available now. Don’t miss your chance to see this legendary band live!
