Thin Lizzy Unveils ‘74-75 – Night Life / Fighting’ Box Set Release

A new Thin Lizzy box set is coming soon! Titled 74-75 – Night Life / Fighting, this seven-CD collection will be released on November 21. It features the band’s fourth and fifth albums, Night Life and Fighting, showcasing their classic lineup with guitarists Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson.

The box set includes two versions of Night Life: the original album and a new stereo mix by Richard Whittaker, supervised by Scott Gorham and mastered by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road. Fighting has been newly remastered and includes four tracks that have been mixed in stereo for the first time.

In addition to the albums, the other discs feature unreleased mixes, outtakes, B-sides, radio sessions, and a live show from Derby recorded in 1975. The set also comes with sleeve notes by Mark Blake from Mojo, a 40-page hardback booklet filled with rare photos and memorabilia, and contributions from long-time artist Jim Fitzpatrick.

Night Life, released in November 1974, was the first album to feature the band as a quartet with Gorham and Robertson. It was followed by Fighting in 1975, which became their first album to chart in the UK, reaching No. 60.

Earlier this year, Thin Lizzy released three of their albums on SHM-CD, a popular Japanese format. Last November, they also put out Acoustic Sessions, their first album in over 40 years, featuring new versions of classic songs.
