Tobias Forge, the frontman of Ghost, is taking steps to face his fears by pursuing a scuba diving license. While he’s not afraid of fish, he has developed a bit of claustrophobia from wearing a mask during performances. Forge hopes that scuba diving will help him overcome this discomfort.
“I’ve always wanted to do that, for all my life!” he said about scuba diving. “But I didn’t have any money or time. Now I’m determined to tackle my claustrophobia.”
Forge has always felt a strong connection to the ocean. “In my alternative life, I’m a wreck diver!” he added.
In a past interview, Forge shared that he experienced a panic attack during a Ghost concert in 2015 while wearing his mask. He recalled being told there was only one way to enter the venue, which made him feel trapped. “I suddenly thought, ‘I need to know where the door is… I can’t get to the door. Stop! Stop! Get the mask off!’ I had to take everything off and restart the whole thing.”
With his new goal of scuba diving, Forge is ready to confront his fears and embrace his love for the sea. Fans can look forward to seeing how this journey unfolds for the talented musician.
