Garbage wrapped up their 2025 tour in Sydney on Sunday, just hours after a tragic shooting at Bondi Beach claimed 15 lives during a Hanukkah celebration. The band took to Instagram to express their shock, revealing that “six of our beloved family members were at Bondi Beach just a few hours before this horrendous incident.”
They shared their condolences, saying, “Our hearts go out to the victims and their families who are now facing unimaginable loss and heartbreak.” The band also spoke out against hate, stating, “F* all this vile antisemitism. F* Islamophobia. The killing has to stop. It is insane and wildly cruel. We must find a way forward. We can’t keep hurting each other like this.”
After their performance at the Sydney Opera House, Garbage posted again, saying, “Despite the horror in the world, our show last night was an absolute dream.” They ended with a hopeful message: “Love to us all. One people under one sun. No exceptions.”
Garbage continues to show their support for the community while delivering powerful music. Fans can look forward to more updates from the band as they reflect on their experiences and the world around them.
