Trivium has announced that drummer Alex Bent is leaving the band. Bent joined the metal group in 2016 and shared his gratitude in an Instagram post, saying, “I am beyond grateful for the incredible past 9 years with Trivium — filled with unforgettable moments, music, and friendships that I’ll always carry with me.”
He expressed pride in the albums and tours they created together and assured fans that Trivium will continue to thrive. “While this chapter has come to a close, this is by no means the end of my path as a musician,” he added. Bent is looking forward to new opportunities in music and thanked his supporters for their encouragement.
Trivium also wished Bent success in his future endeavors. He played on their last three albums: 2017’s *The Sin and the Sentence*, 2020’s *What the Dead Men Say*, and 2021’s *In the Court of the Dragon*. The band is set to release a new EP titled *Struck Dead* on Halloween, October 31, and will kick off a U.S. tour that same day in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Trivium recently performed their first show with new drummer Greyson Nekrutman at the Aftershock festival. Nekrutman has previously played with Sepultura and Suicidal Tendencies. Fans can look forward to what’s next for both Trivium and Bent!
