Violet Grohl Announces May 29 Release Date for Her Debut Album ‘Be Sweet To Me’

Violet Grohl is set to release her debut album, *Be Sweet To Me*, on May 29 through Auroura Records/Republic Records. She recently dropped a new single titled “595,” accompanied by a music video directed by Nikki Milan Houston. This announcement comes just a week after Violet, the daughter of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, made her first appearance on the charts with her debut single, which entered at No. 38.

The album was recorded between late 2024 and early 2025 at producer Justin Raisen’s home studio in Los Angeles. Violet shared her thoughts on the music, saying, “There’s something so powerful about that period of music, from the messaging to the visuals; it’s authentic and raw. I’ve listened to that stuff since I was a kid.” She drew inspiration from bands like Pixies, Soundgarden, Cocteau Twins, The Breeders, PJ Harvey, The Muffs, Björk, Alice in Chains, L7, and Juliana Hatfield. Her love for film, especially the work of the late David Lynch, also influenced her songwriting.

At just 19, Violet has been performing for several years. In 2021, she released a cover of X’s “Nausea” with her dad, and they performed it live on *Jimmy Kimmel* alongside Krist Novoselic, Dave Lombardo, and Greg Kurstin. She has also joined Foo Fighters on stage multiple times, including tribute concerts for the late drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022. In 2023, she performed with her dad at Glastonbury.

*Be Sweet To Me* will be available on black, blueberry jam, and ivory vinyl, as well as on CD. Violet will also perform at the Shaky Knees festival in Atlanta on September 12.
