Next month, the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark will transform into a pet adoption hub. The two-day event runs June 21-22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with hundreds of animals waiting to meet their new families.
“Our Megas provide a lifeline for so many pets who have lost everything. It’s truly inspiring to see these pets chosen by families eager to give them a new life full of love,” said Adam Lamb, BVSPCA CEO, to The Unionville Times.
Each animal costs $35 to adopt. This price includes medical care: spaying or neutering, a microchip, and shots. The selection spans from tiny kittens to adult dogs, brought in by BVSPCA and seven partner shelters.
“At Petco Love, we believe love changes everything, and there’s no better example of that than these incredible Mega Adoption Events,” said Petco Love President, Susanne Kogut.
Animal groups from four states will take part. Teams from ACCT Philly, Baltimore Animal Rescue, and Harrisburg’s Humane Society will bring pets needing homes.
Since starting these events in December 2016, BVSPCA has matched 20,000 animals with new families. This marks their 19th mega-adoption gathering.
Bring supplies if you plan to take a pet home. Dogs need a leash and collar. Cats need carriers: staff will provide cardboard ones if needed. Don’t forget your ID and $35 for the adoption cost.
Skip the lines with a Fast Pass. This lets you enter an hour before the main crowd.
