Anthrax are taking their love of the medium to the next level by officially chronicling their four-decade career in graphic novel form. The thrash pioneers have reunited with publisher Z2 for NOT: The Illustrated Oral History of Anthrax, an original graphic album set to hit shelves on March 16, 2027.

Featuring firsthand accounts directly from Scott Ian, Charlie Benante, Frank Bello, Joey Belladonna, and Jon Donais, the 108-page book explores the band's history from their early days through modern times. Highlights include their friendships with a young Metallica and Pantera, their historic collaboration with Public Enemy, and their infamous guest appearance on Married… With Children.

A stacked roster of legendary comic artists brought the band's memories to life, including Brian Bolland (Judge Dredd), Peter Bagge (Hate), Jay Howell (Bob’s Burgers), Danny Hellman, Brent Engstrom (Garbage Pail Kids), and more.

"Being a band for 40+ years you have stories, you have experiences, and the way we're telling the stories and experiences with Z2 is a great way for us and the fans to actually visualize these little stories in comic book form," says drummer Charlie Benante. According to The Sun's Bizarre column, the band has been quietly negotiating with Sphere executives for a while, with insider sources indicating a final deal could be officially signed within the next couple of weeks.

Attendees at Creed’s "Summer Of ’99 And Beyond Festival" in Tinley Park, Illinois, got a massive dose of nostalgia and comedy last night, July 18th, when the cast of Super Troopers crashed Limp Bizkit's set.

Members of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe marched onto the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre stage fully in-character, initially acting like they were there to shut down the performance due to a "noise complaint". The playful bit quickly escalated, culminating in the comedy crew joining the nu-metal icons for a chaotic, set-closing performance of their legendary anthem "Break Stuff".

The surprise appearance served as a promotional stunt for the upcoming August 7th theatrical release of Super Troopers 3. However, the festival appearance itself marked a massive milestone for Limp Bizkit. Their presence on the lineup officially signals that their infamous, decades-old feud with festival headliners Creed has finally been buried for good.

This marks the second major comedic crossover for Limp Bizkit this month, following an onstage collaboration earlier in July where they brought out Canadian comedian Tom Green to perform "Rollin’".

During an appearance on the latest episode of The Anchormen podcast with Dan Ball and Riley Lewis, Staind frontman and solo country artist Aaron Lewis shared some incredibly harsh words for musicians who rely on backing tracks during live concerts. Lewis argued that the widespread industry practice of running extra instrumental or vocal tracks underneath a performance actively cheats the audience.

"I honestly feel like what I'm about to talk about, it's robbing the person that is going to see a live show," Lewis stated. "What tends to happen more often than not these days is that there's full tracks running underneath what is getting played on stage. The band themselves could put their instruments down and walk off stage and the listener in the crowd would barely even notice if they weren't looking at the stage to see everybody walk off. And that's real." He went on to claim that across the last three or four tours he has completed, his band was the only act on the bill not utilizing tracks.

The outspoken traditionalist is currently out on the road on his 2026 American Tour alongside his backing band, The Stateliners. The tour follows the July 17th release of his sixth solo country album, Give My Country Back, via Big Machine Label Group. Outlaw country artist Charley Crockett has seemingly deactivated most of his major social media accounts less than a week after revealing he dropped opening act Twin Temple from his upcoming shows due to their "Satanic imagery."

The openly Satanic doo-wop revival duo was originally scheduled to open a pair of stops for Crockett in Oregon and California later this month. After Twin Temple announced their sudden removal from the bill, Crockett initially took to Facebook and Instagram to double down on his decision. "I won't conform and I'm not sorry," Crockett wrote in a July 10 post.

However, by July 15, both his Facebook and Instagram pages were completely deactivated, displaying "content isn't available" error messages, while his X (formerly Twitter) account was either deleted or made private. As of July 16, only his TikTok account remains active. Despite the online drama, Crockett went ahead with his scheduled performance in Troutdale, Oregon, and is next set to play in Bend, Oregon.

Meanwhile, things are looking up for Twin Temple. The 95-year-old Canadian Star Trek legend is slated to debut his new metal project, *The uckers, at this September's Riot Fest in Chicago, but he has reportedly sent the independently-owned festival a long rider filled with outlandish demands.
