Rock revivalists Dirty Honey have officially announced their third full-length studio album, Catch My Butterfly, set to arrive on January 15, 2027. Produced by John Feldmann (Blink-182, Korn), the upcoming 14-track effort marks the next evolution in the band's gritty, authentic sound.

To launch the new era, the trio—frontman Marc LaBelle, guitarist John Notto, and bassist Justin Smolian—released two contrasting singles simultaneously: the high-octane riff-rocker "Lights Out" and the soulful, acoustic-driven "Butterfly."

Frontman Marc LaBelle reflected on reaching the three-album mark and the growth behind the record:

"I'm very proud of our perseverance. Any band has to really survive to make a third record. We've made mistakes in the studio, gotten over past regrets, lived more, and become better songwriters. All of those things snowballed into 'Catch My Butterfly'."

LaBelle also revealed the personal, emotional subject matter driving the title track, which tackles the realities of addiction from the outside looking in:

"There are addiction issues in my family. I tried to write from a different perspective — either that of a father to an addicted child or the family member of an addict. In this scenario, you're so overcome with worry about whether or not your loved one is alive or dead at any given moment. My thought was, 'If you don't get high, there's no way that you're going to catch this person who is so beautiful in your eyes, but so broken at the same time.'"

A Place To Kill, the industrial project featuring Richard Patrick (Filter, ex-Nine Inch Nails) and Jim Louvau (There Is No Us), has officially announced its second EP, APTK2, arriving November 13, 2026, via Patrick's No Pulse Records.

To kick off the release, the duo will drop the lead single and music video, "Keep My Name Out Of Your Mouth," on September 25. The upcoming six-song follow-up to June's self-titled debut sees the pair leaning further into punishing metal rhythms, aggressive industrial production, and dual vocal deliveries:

"Super proud of this new EP. It's even heavier and crazier than the first one. The post-apocalypse never sounded so good," says Patrick.

Louvau noted that the overwhelmingly positive reaction to their initial release spurred them straight back to work:

"We were so overwhelmed at the response we received after we released the first EP that we wanted to get back into the studio as soon as possible to work on the follow-up and give people more new music — and to also make it clear that this wasn't just a one-off side project... 'APTK2' sounds more focused, more ferocious, and more pissed off than ever."

A Killer's Confession, fronted by former Mushroomhead vocalist Waylon Reavis, has officially announced their sixth studio album, Victim 3, set for release on November 13 via MNRK Heavy.

Marking the final chapter of the band's ambitious concept trilogy following Victim 1 and Victim 2, the upcoming release concludes the dark narrative of a death-row vigilante serial killer. Alongside the album announcement, the band dropped their defiant new single and music video, "Roses," directed by Dusten Boles. Reavis opened up about the message behind the track:

"'Roses' was written from a point of view of where everything that you have done was in vain. We've all been to that point of feeling unappreciated, but I feel like roses is a statement of it doesn't matter what you do as long as you and only you know why you did it. In the end, never look for a pat on the back, because you'll never get the acknowledgment that you're seeking. There will be no roses on my grave."

The band will hit the road this fall on the "Everything Comes Full Circle Tour" alongside Dizasterpiece and Dead Things, launching November 4 in Raleigh, North Carolina, and wrapping up December 5 in Lakewood, Ohio.

At 95 years old, pop culture legend William Shatner boldly went where he had never gone before, making his live debut with his newly formed heavy metal outfit, *The uckers, during a Riot Fest aftershow at Park West in Chicago.

Serving as a warm-up for his appearance at Douglass Park, Shatner took the stage alongside an all-star lineup of rock and metal veterans—including musical director/guitarist Marcus Nand, bassist Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol), guitarist Britt Lightning (Vixen), and drummer Fred Aching (Kings of Thrash). Taking the stage at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on September 19 for his first show since the removal of Macklemore from the Loop Tour, Ed Sheeran addressed the crowd directly regarding the escalating controversy:

Slipknot has uploaded a five-minute behind-the-scenes featurette focusing on the music video for their standalone single "Arsenal." Overseen and directed by percussionist M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan, the featurette reveals why the band did not physically appear in the clip. Papa Roach has withdrawn from their scheduled appearance at this year's Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky. The last-minute decision comes after bassist Tobin Esperance experienced an unexpected medical emergency. The band was originally set to close the festival's Life Stage prior to announcing their cancellation on September 18.

The band released a statement to fans explaining that medical professionals advised Esperance not to perform this weekend.

"Right now, Tobin’s health is our immediate concern," the statement continued.
