$Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Joan Jett has been forced to cancel two upcoming September concert dates to recover from recent orthopedic surgery following a fractured vertebra. According to an update shared across Jett's official social media channels, the decision affects her planned performances in Costa Mesa, California on September 5 and Louisville, Kentucky on September 24. "Following a recent injury, Joan Jett has undergone orthopedic surgery on a fractured vertebrae and will begin the necessary healing process," the official statement reads. "In close consultation with her doctors, Joan will not be able to perform at her forthcoming September scheduled shows in Costa Mesa, CA on September 5th and in Louisville, KY on September 24th. While Joan hates to disappoint fans, she will be taking this time to focus on physical therapy and healing. She's looking forward to delivering tremendous concerts for many years to come." Despite the brief pause in her touring schedule, Blackheart Records will proceed with the release of the 45th-anniversary reissue of Joan Jett & The Blackhearts' landmark 1981 album I Love Rock 'N Roll on August 28.
