Returning to the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, KY from September 17–20, the massive four-day event features over 200 bands across seven stages. Progressive metal outfit Mastodon has released the official animated music video for "In The Ruins," the latest single from their upcoming ninth studio album, Marrow Deep, arriving August 28 via Loma Vista Recordings.

The track was heavily inspired by the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene, which severely flooded the home of bassist/vocalist Troy Sanders and displaced his family for nearly two years. That disaster coincided with a period of intense grief for the group following the passings of former guitarist Brent Hinds and drummer Brann Dailor's mother, Michele Lawrence. Paired with a fever-dream visual created by Hey Beautiful Jerk, the song turns overwhelming personal upheaval into a powerful declaration of resilience.

"It's another deep one, but ultimately it's us channeling the loss into a powerful declaration of resilience and catharsis," the band shared. "We are lucky we have each other, and we are lucky we have you, our fans!"

Marrow Deep marks the band's first full-length effort featuring new guitarist Nick Johnston alongside contributions from keyboardist João Nogueira. Mastodon will hit the road this September for "The Poisonous Weapons Tour" alongside Deafheaven and Alcest.

Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho recently reflected on the legacy of the band's 2017 breakout hit "Judas," calling it a rare achievement that every rock fan recognizes.

Speaking with Delaware radio station 93.5 The Beach, Jericho recalled fighting for "Judas" to be the album's lead single when the record label was leaning toward "Painless." The gamble paid off: the track reached the Top 5 on the U.S. rock chart, earned RIAA gold certification, and has accumulated roughly 90 million YouTube views. Jericho noted that having a universally recognized signature track is something every band hopes to achieve, comparing its impact to classics like Metallica's "Enter Sandman," AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long," and Foo Fighters' "My Hero."

"When you get your songs into the mainstream, that's when you know you've got something special," Jericho shared. "Do you know how many bands would wish for one song like that, that everybody in the business knows, and all the fans of that type of music know? It's a very rare thing, and we've got it. So we're very proud of that fact."

Jericho also highlighted Fozzy's latest single, "I Know Evil," which is set to be featured in the upcoming film Dead Of Night.

Mudvayne and Hellyeah frontman Chad Gray is stepping out on his first-ever full solo tour with his "30 Years of Madness" trek, but he admits he's anxious to see how the crowds turn out across the country.

Speaking with The Logan Show, Gray revealed that the decision to launch a solo project came after Mudvayne decided to take 2026 off from touring. Unwilling to sit around for a year, Gray assembled an all-star backing band to perform a career-spanning setlist featuring hits from both Mudvayne and Hellyeah. While early dates saw strong ticket sales, the singer called the upcoming full run the ultimate proving ground.

"I'm doing a full tour, this is kind of the big test. Like, do people really wanna see this?" Gray shared. "Yes, it's not MUDVAYNE. Yes, it's not HELLYEAH. But it's me. I'm the voice of both of those bands and with an incredible backing band. So if you like these songs, you're gonna get these songs."

Support for the upcoming "30 Years of Madness" tour will feature Butcher Babies and Devil's Cut.

Bring Me The Horizon vocalist Oli Sykes and Spiritbox singer Courtney LaPlante have joined forces for a massive new crossover single, "If The Sun Burns Out Tonight."

Written and produced by electronic producer Grabbitz in partnership with Riot Games, the heavy-meets-electronic track serves as the official theme for the upcoming Valorant Champions event taking place in Shanghai from September 24 to October 18. The collaboration marks the first official studio track featuring both vocalists after years of sharing festival stages.

"Oli, Courtney and I came together from different corners of the globe, and landed on a track that sits effortlessly between my electronic world and the heavy landscapes of Bring Me The Horizon and Spiritbox," Grabbitz shared. "The three of us just clicked — and the result is what I believe to be the best Valorant anthem to date."

Sykes and LaPlante both expressed excitement over the gaming-meets-metal mashup, with LaPlante noting that Grabbitz tailored the atmospheric anthem specifically to fit all three of their vocal dynamics.

Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson has sparked new discussion among fans after dropping a subtle line about the band during a recent YouTube livestream.

His comments follow recent reports that Wilson had been fired from the heavy metal outfit after nearly three decades due to long-standing internal frustrations. Closing out The World Scratch Invitational, Wilson addressed the audience directly:

“I’m Sid, DJ Starscream Number Zero from the world famous Slipknot,” Wilson said. “And this is The World Scratch Invitational. See you at the next one.”

While Slipknot has yet to issue an official statement regarding Wilson's status, guitarist Jim Root previously posted a cryptic note telling fans not to "believe everything you read." For now, fans are left reading between the lines as both sides remain officially silent on the matter.

An all-star coalition of musicians, comedians, and spoken-word artists have joined forces for a new benefit compilation titled Contra-ICE Vol. 1: ICE OUT.

Organized by the nonprofit Build Art Make Change (BAMC) and set for release on October 2 via SoundsGood Records, the 47-track collection aims to raise funds and awareness for immigrant rights organizations like NDLON and Unión del Barrio. The album features unreleased contributions from Tom Morello, Ad-Rock, Kathleen Hanna, Jello Biafra, Fishbone, Ozomatli, Fred Armisen, and more.

Lead single duties belong to a special cover of DJ Snake and Justin Bieber's "Let Me Love You," performed by Kathleen Hanna alongside Ad-Rock, Money Mark, Fredo Ortiz, and Frank Figueroa, produced by Beastie Boys collaborator Mario Caldato Jr.

"It's not often you get to play music with your favorite people while working with a grassroots organization like Contra-ICE," shared Kathleen Hanna. "They are passionately fighting against fascism and white supremacy, which is something none of us can afford to ignore."

An album release concert will take place on October 3 at La Cita in Los Angeles, CA, with tickets going on sale Friday, August 14.

311 is expanding their fall touring plans with three newly added stops across the U.S.

The multi-platinum rap rock outfit added headline dates in Phoenix, Denver, and Chesterfield to a lineup that already features festival appearances at Oceans Calling and SEMA Fest. Beach Weather, Tunnel Vision, and others will join the band for select performances.

General ticket sales and VIP packages for the newly added dates go on sale Friday, August 14, at 10:00 AM local time.
