Motionless expressed a deep personal connection to the track, stating he has been teasing a specific "dream cover" for 13 years without ever naming the song until now.

Describing the band's approach to the iconic track, Motionless noted that while they "brought the guitars in" to make it heavier than the original, they intentionally avoided adding a breakdown to preserve the song's "slick '80s swagger". The cover will feature all the classic synths and the "huge hook" that defined the original, blending the band’s industrial metalcore foundation with a faithful tribute to the 80s icon.
