Fred Durst has officially volunteered to provide vocals for an upcoming album of unreleased and unfinished Van Halen songs. The Limp Bizkit frontman responded to recent post from Consequence on X that Alex Van Halen is currently searching for a singer to complete tracks that the late Eddie Van Halen was working on prior to his passing.

Taking to social media, Durst posted a simple but enthusiastic message: "let's go!! I'm ready".

The project is being spearheaded by Alex Van Halen in collaboration with veteran guitarist Steve Lukather. While the group initially hoped to recruit Bad Company’s Paul Rodgers, that arrangement did not materialize, leaving the search open. Alex has noted that he is looking for a vocalist with a "shared experience" and the proper musical depth to match the legendary material.

Horror-themed metalcore leaders Ice Nine Kills have officially premiered their latest single, "Twisting The Knife," a track specifically written for the upcoming Scream 7. The song features a guest appearance by actress and singer Mckenna Grace, who stars in the new film. Adding to the franchise connection, Grace recorded her vocals in frontman Spencer Charnas' home studio, right alongside an original screen-used knife prop from the first Scream movie.

"Twisting The Knife" is set to play during the end credits of Scream 7, further cementing the band's deep-rooted ties to the horror community. Charnas, a lifelong fan of the series, described the track as a tribute to Wes Craven’s legacy and the "DNA" of Ice Nine Kills. The film is scheduled to have its Los Angeles premiere on February 25, followed by a wide theatrical release o#newmusicfriday.

Scream is baked into the DNA of who I am and of Ice Nine Kills—my love of horror, comedy, and the collision between the two. In recent years, we’ve gotten to know and work with Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, Neve Campbell, Rose McGowan, Jamie Kennedy, Lee Waddell, and others in different capacities. When we learned that Mckenna Grace is a fan of our band, it made perfect sense to invite her to sing. She recorded her part in my home studio, in the same room where I keep my screen-used Scream knife prop, one of the four rubber knives made for the first movie.”

The Trump Administration has officially weighed in on Bruce Springsteen’s newly announced 2026 North American tour, with White House Communications Director Steven Cheung predicting the trek will be a "flop."
