In a wide-ranging conversation with Chris Jericho, guitarist John 5 gave an inside look into his world-renowned KISS collection, explaining how a childhood love for Love Gun transformed into a mission to document and protect rock history under one roof.

Housed in a specialized, fireproof facility featuring bars on the windows and climate control, the 900-square-foot space has become packed to the brim with rare costumes, paperwork, contracts, and stacks of vintage posters. John 5 explained that original members Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss are all aware of the archive and often help him verify items:

"And you know the guys, Gene, Paul, Ace, Peter, they like it, too. They know about this. They know that it's all here. And I'll ask them about things and they'll give me information, but they kind of like that it's all here, you know, all under one roof. I mean, listen, there's a lot of costume pieces that I would love to get. This will never end. It's like shoveling sand."

John 5 also reflected on how the collector market is rapidly shifting as original fans get older, while expressing concern over whether future generations will value physical rock relics:

"People in our generation... we were kids in the '70s, and now at this point people are now starting to get older and older and older of this generation, and they're starting to sell their collections to pay off their house or for medical or something like that. So that's happening a lot now. What's worrying me is the next generation. Are they going to be as influenced as we were? Physical copies of anything are becoming less and less and less... My son's girlfriend was in here and I was like, 'Have you heard of KISS?' And she's like, 'I've never heard of KISS.' It's crazy."

Despite the endless hunt, the guitarist emphasized that keeping these pieces preserved from fires, floods, or being discarded ensures that the legacy of rock and roll's most theatrical powerhouse remains intact.

"Then last weekend he stood in front of a stadium full of music-loving families, with violent images from a war on the screens, dedicated a song to the movement of his choice, and then took the mic to tell all of the Jews in the stadium that it wasn’t about them. You don’t get to decide that for us... What I need is to be able to say, as a Jewish mom, 'that scared me, and it scared people I love,' without being told our fear is just propaganda, and without being told I’m somehow cool with genocide because I noticed?"

Pink reflected on her decades-long history of speaking out for human rights and progressive causes, noting how isolating this latest public debate has felt:

"I have stood up for other people’s people my whole career, and I know exactly what it costs. And now I’m standing up for my own people, and I thought I knew going in how lonely that would be. And it’s lonelier than that. But I’m doing it anyway."

Macklemore previously addressed the tour controversy during his set, stating: "To all of my Jewish brothers and sisters: criticism of Israel, criticism of apartheid, being against genocide in no way is a criticism of you. Night Ranger is keeping the party going by adding fresh 2027 dates to their ongoing United States tour. The band is currently trekking across the country with upcoming shows scheduled through late 2026, including stops at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium and Las Vegas.

The newly announced 2027 leg kicks off on January 14 at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, Pennsylvania. From there, the '80s rockstars will hit cities across Pennsylvania, Michigan, Alabama, and Florida before wrapping up with a four-night run in New Orleans on The '80s Cruise.

Mongolian "Hunnu rock" sensation The Hu have unveiled the official music video for "Warrior Chant," a standout track from their third studio album, Hun.

Lead throat singer Galaa shared how the track taps directly into their traditional cultural roots through rhythm and instrumentation:

"'Warrior Chant' has our signature rhythm that our fans fell in love with and everyone who will listen and know us will say that it is our song.

Our third album has a bit of everything rhythm-wise, and we see that as a progress of expanding the Hunnu rock genre. This song has the rhythm that is original to us and is rooted in Mongolian culture. Enkush and I focused on horse head fiddle solos by imitating the horse gait and you will hear the rhythm throughout the song. Of course Jaya perfected the rhythm by adding Mongolian wind instrument, Unu did heavy percussion drum throughout. Mongolian traditional instruments are heavily used on this song and our die hard fans are going to love it!"

The video release comes as physical vinyl and box set editions of Hun roll out worldwide via Better Noise Music. Currently finishing up North American dates on Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson's "Freaks On Parade" tour, The Hu will next cross the Atlantic this fall for a massive 23-city European headline trek alongside French folk act SKÁLD.

Speaking with Michael Moynihan on The Moynihan Report, Shatner confirmed the project is being helmed by producers Adam Hamilton (L.A. Guns) and Cleopatra Records president Brian Perera, alongside Derek Hughes, Marcus Nand, and Jürgen Engler (Die Krupps). The record boasts an all-star roster of heavy music icons, including Brian May (Queen), Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), and John Moyer (Disturbed).

Shatner explained how diving into the genre unlocked a raw, personal creative fire:

"I am in a fervor of creativity... Cleopatra, the label that I work with frequently, said to me, 'Why don't you do a heavy metal album?' And I said, 'What the F is heavy metal?' Then I heard 'Patience' [by Guns N' Roses]. So we write a song called 'Impatience'... And it's got that kind of rage and tempo… Impassioned. 'I'm tired of old age. I'm tired of losing hair. I'm tired of not eating. I'm tired of catching a cold. I'm tired of being tired. I'm tired!'

The music is a distillation of emotion. It's so right there... There are 50 well-known heavy metal geniuses who wanna be on the album, led by Brian May. Brian May laid his track down over a song that Rob [Sharenow] and I wrote called 'Rage'."

The Star Trek icon is also taking the project to the stage, debuting a 30-minute set with his newly assembled band, *The uckers, at Chicago’s Riot Fest on Sunday, September 20.

Mastodon has officially broken its silence regarding the civil lawsuit filed by the estate of late guitarist and co-founder Brent Hinds, addressing the public accusations concerning business buyouts and profits.

The band released a formal statement addressing the legal conflict, firmly denying any wrongdoing:

"Sadly, a private business dispute with the estate of our dear departed friend Brent Hinds was made public. We strongly deny allegations of ill intent on our part and intend to vigorously defend what we believe is a meritless lawsuit."

Mastodon also emphasized that they will keep further comments to a minimum out of respect for Hinds' enduring musical legacy:

Slaughter to Prevail frontman Alex Terrible has issued a blunt response to fans criticizing the cost of his signature handcrafted masks via his Alex Terrible Wear Instagram account.

Addressing ongoing complaints, Terrible defended the price point by pointing out market realities, noting that comparable handcrafted masks typically run upwards of $500, and explaining how economic pressures have impacted production:

"I crack up so much at comments like this. Like, 'Ahh, now I understand why the price is so high.' You can immediately tell that many of you have absolutely no idea about this market. Go look at other handcrafted masks and find me even a couple of companies that produce as many masks as we do at such a low price.

Normally, a mask like this would easily cost around $500, yet so many of you are constantly complaining about the price. It’s honestly hilarious. You try your best to keep the price as close to the actual production cost as possible, and somehow it’s still 'too expensive' for them! Well, fair enough! It’s not a cheap price in general, but even many years ago when our masks cost was $90 including shipping and there were still so many people saying, 'too expensive!' Ha ha ha, come on!

Now gas prices have tripled, there’s war going on, Russia is under heavy sanctions, and the whole world is going crazy with inflation — and we’re still keeping the price low!"

What originally began roughly a decade ago as sketches during gym workouts—inspired by comic characters like Spawn and Spider-Man—has expanded into an internationally recognized staple of his stage persona and a full-scale handcrafted operation.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) will celebrate three decades of holiday rock traditions with a massive 30th-anniversary winter tour launching this November.

The multi-platinum progressive rock collective will present a completely reimagined production of their beloved rock opera, The Ghosts Of Christmas Eve, paired with an energetic second set loaded with greatest hits, cutting-edge pyrotechnics, and lasers.

Guitarist and music director Al Pitrelli emphasized the group's ongoing dedication to delivering an unforgettable, family-accessible experience:

"Thirty years in, we never take a single person in that audience for granted. With the economy the way that it is right now, it shouldn't be a mortgage payment for a family to come out to see us. Paul O'Neill was very adamant about giving people in the audience more 'show' than they could've even imagined, and that's what we do every year. We reimagine the show, we rebuild it, we make it bigger than last year so people come back again... We want to make sure you guys can come out and celebrate because you and everyone in that audience are the greatest fans in the world."

To keep the milestone tour accessible, TSO has expanded lower-priced ticket options in every city. National and local pre-sales begin September 17, with general public sales opening September 18. The estate of late Mastodon guitarist and co-founder Brent Hinds has filed a civil lawsuit against surviving bandmates Brann Dailor, Troy Sanders, and Bill Kelliher in Fulton County Court, alleging Hinds was never properly bought out of his share of the band's businesses prior to his death in August 2025.

According to the complaint, Mastodon issued the estate an $80,000 buyout check following an unsigned separation agreement, which the estate has held off on cashing until a comprehensive accounting audit determines what Hinds is truly owed after 25 years with the group.

The lawsuit also targets the band's use of Hinds' likeness to promote their recent album, Marrow Deep, noting his face was incorporated into the album cover art beneath Atropos—the Greek Fate who severs the thread of life—despite Hinds not playing on the record:

"Defendants selected and placed a recognizable image of Brent on the album cover of 'Marrow Deep' and disseminated that cover to advertise, market, distribute, and sell physical albums, digital downloads and streams, merchandise, and related goods or services."

Additionally, the filing criticizes the band's recent 35-minute documentary, The Mastodon In The Room, claiming the surviving members disclosed private personal matters—including struggles with substance abuse—that Hinds chose to keep private during his lifetime.
