Tom Morello has revealed another wave of legendary musicians joining the lineup for his upcoming 'Power To The People' festival. In This Moment vocalist Maria Brink has officially confirmed plans to release her long-awaited debut solo project, titled Maria Brink's COVEN, before the band begins work on their next full-length record.

Speaking with Rock Sound, Brink shared that pursuing the solo effort now provides the perfect window of creative freedom while allowing co-founder and lead guitarist Chris Howorth the space to develop the follow-up to their recently released ninth studio LP, Witch:

"I am doing my first solo project between [In This Moment's recently released ninth album, 'Witch', and the band's next LP]. Maria Brink's COVEN — I'm gonna call it COVEN, and that's gonna be my first thing that I've done [as a solo artist]. And then that gives Chris and I some extra time to really perfect the next In This Moment album between the two. I'm excited."

Brink has discussed venturing into a solo lane for years, previously teasing a softer, atmospheric, and deeply personal departure from In This Moment’s heavy, theatrical stage production:

"It doesn't frighten me, it sounds amazing. I love change. I'm a Sagittarius and I love adventure and new beginnings... When I play piano by myself and sing, something really special happens. I connect to something that I love. My favorite moment in our In This Moment set is when I go out by myself to play a song on the piano. That would be me being able to do that for a whole intimate set, and I think it would fill my soul."

Music icon Lionel Richie is recovering after undergoing a heart procedure to treat atrial fibrillation following a series of onstage health scares during his recent tour.

A representative confirmed the news, noting that the 77-year-old singer is in good spirits and expected to return to performing after taking time off to heal:

"The doctor said everything went perfectly. Lionel is doing great but will take some time off and will be back on stage soon."

Due to his recovery, Richie's upcoming shows with Earth, Wind & Fire—September 26 in San Francisco, September 30 in Chicago, and October 2 in Columbus, Ohio—have been canceled. The cancellations follow a summer run disrupted by medical concerns, including an incident in St. Paul where Richie stopped a performance early after experiencing dizziness, and a precautionary hospitalization in St. Louis in late August.

Richie is currently slated to return to live performances next month for his Las Vegas residency, scheduled to kick off October 14.

After taking a pause in 2026, Boardwalk Rock is officially returning to the Ocean City Inlet from May 14–16, 2027.

Organizers originally announced in late 2025 that the rock festival would sit out 2026 due to challenges that arose when two planned headliners dropped out, making it difficult to assemble a full, top-tier lineup in time. However, officials confirmed Tuesday that the event is locked in to make its comeback with promoter C3 Presents:

“While we are disappointed to take a pause in 2026, we are fully committed to working with C3 Presents to bring the festival back stronger than ever in 2027," said Ocean City Business Development Director Tom Perlozzo.

The return builds on the momentum of the inaugural 2025 edition, which drew massive crowds to the beach with a lineup featuring heavy-hitters like Rob Zombie, Shinedown, Nickelback, and Def Leppard. Alongside Ocean’s Calling and Country Calling, the festival remains a flagship event for the resort town.

Lineup announcements and ticket details for 2027 will be revealed in the coming months.

Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke has stepped in to defend System of a Down vocalist Serj Tankian after portions of the SOAD fanbase voiced anger over Tankian’s appearance on the new single, "Joseph."

The heavy collaboration, which arrived September 14 alongside a music video directed by Jensen Noen, marks the first time Tankian and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor have ever joined forces on the same recording. However, the release triggered blowback across social media, with some System of a Down listeners calling the feature an unwelcome surprise and voicing frustration over Tankian and Taylor associating with Radke.

Judas Priest founding bassist Ian Hill was forced to sit out the band's London concert at the Eventim Apollo after suffering a badly damaged tendon in his left arm.

The band announced the news via social media, confirming that Uriah Heep bassist Dave Rimmer—who also plays alongside guitarist Richie Faulkner in Elegant Weapons—would step in so the show can proceed:

"Ian has a badly damaged tendon in his left arm so unfortunately he won't be able to play at our Hammersmith Apollo Eventim show on Monday 21st September....our good friend Davey Rimmer (Uriah Heep) will be playing with us so the show will go on. Ian sends his grateful appreciation to our fans for your caring and understanding."

Hill remains the sole original member of Judas Priest since their formation in 1969. The band is currently traveling on their 2026 "Faithkeepers" world tour in support of their 19th studio album, Invincible Shield.
