During a Q&A session at Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp, John 5 reflected on stepping into Mötley Crüe in the fall of 2022 to replace co-founding guitarist Mick Mars, sharing how natural the transition felt due to his longtime bond with the band:

"Nikki gave me [a list of] the songs [to learn] and he goes, 'Okay, learn these.' And I'm thinking to myself, 'I know these songs. I've known [these songs] forever. I know these songs just like the whole world knows these songs.' So it was wonderful. I was super excited... It's just been a dream. It's just been so much fun. All we do is laugh and have a great time."

Drummer Tommy Lee also spoke about the massive spark John 5 brought to the lineup:

"When John came in, and with all due respect to Mick Mars, [John] brought this f*ing fire, this new fire and excitement to every one of us. It was just this giant, like... I don't know, man. Shit just got really, really good. And he's an incredible guitar player, and he's a sweetheart."

Pearl Jam is giving fans a piece of Philadelphia rock history with the official vinyl release of their legendary 2016 performance of Ten.

During their April 2016 stop at Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center, Eddie Vedder and company surprised the sold-out crowd by tearing through their iconic 1991 debut album front-to-back in its original track sequence—from "Once" all the way through "Release."

The historic set marked one of the extremely rare occasions the band performed the landmark multi-platinum record in its entirety live.

The upcoming vinyl package captures the full energy of that unforgettable Philly crowd and the raw live power of anthems like "Alive," "Black," "Jeremy," and "Even Flow."

Bad Wolves have officially released their heavy metal rendition of Dolly Parton's "Jolene," moving forward with the track following the departure of guitarist AJ Rebollo, who quit the group in protest of its release.

In a press release, drummer John Boecklin revealed that the song was originally intended to feature vocals from Parton herself before her passing:

"Our new singer [Sara "Killboy" Skinner] is a big fan of Dolly and had posted a bunch of videos of her covering 'Jolene.' So we decided to make a heavy metal cover version for our next album. On hearing our version, our label CEO Dan Waite sent the finished demo to Dolly's manager Danny Nozell with a request for Dolly to guest feature on our version. We heard back that Danny had played the track to Dolly and that Dolly loved our version and that Dolly was going to go into the studio and add her vocals very soon."

Boecklin noted that the band was devastated by Parton's death and confirmed that proceeds from the single will go directly to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

P.O.D. have officially completed work on their upcoming studio album, the direct follow-up to 2024's Veritas. The sessions took place at Memory Music Studios in South Philadelphia alongside Grammy-winning producer Will Yip.

Guitarist Marcos Curiel and bassist Mark "Traa" Daniels spoke with FemMetal about teaming up with Yip and pushing their sound forward:

"It just happened organically. And we were able to do a record with him, and we're really super proud of it... I think there's a lot of threads coming from 'Veritas'. It's kind of an extension, but it's also, I would wanna say a growth. So you guys are just gonna have to wait and see." — Marcos Curiel

"Marcos had an amazing concept for this record... that I think are gonna be really thought-provoking once people actually listen to the music. Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has addressed his recent on-stage reaction to a strict no-smoking policy while opening for the Foo Fighters at Detroit’s Ford Field, where he lit a cigarette on stage despite facing a potential $10,000 fine.

Homme explained that his frustration was not about the cigarette itself, but rather about excessive corporate restrictions placed on concertgoers paying for live entertainment:

“It had nothing to do with smoking. It’s about monopolies and corporations that charge you $85 for parking, and $30 for a beer, and tell you, ‘You can’t go here, but you can go here.' It’s about controlling fun. The example of smoking just doesn’t matter. That’s not important. It’s about being constantly told what to do when you yourself are paying for a moment of escapism. It’s like having to have fun with the hall monitors.”

Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo publicly came out as a proudly gay man in May 2026 after burying his feelings with alcohol for over a decade. While preparing material for the band's new album Pure Ecstasy, Shomo initially struggled with fear and wrote broadly empowering lyrics to avoid confronting his personal reality. His bandmates, including bassist Oshie Bichar, were completely supportive throughout the process and remained focused entirely on creating the music.

"Honestly, I was just dealing with so much in my life and my personal life and the weight of that album that I just kind of turned the fucking blinders on and just ran, and just ran full speed. And then it was done, and I just fucking turned it in after I mixed it and was, like, 'This is it. I'm not changing anything.'"

After producer Jordan Fish encouraged him to take a candid inward look, the pair quickly collaborated on key tracks like "Free," "Beautiful Again," and "Eyes Closed." Shomo ultimately decided to release the album without making changes, choosing to address his personal life before others did it for him. Although he encountered sad homophobic responses and mixed fan reactions online, Shomo stands proudly by his authentic new creative direction.

In a new interview with Chile's Radio Futuro, Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen provided an update on the progress of the band's next full-length studio album, noting fans may need to wait a little longer for the official release:

"Well, we are Def Leppard, so it may be '28, but we're always recording. We're constantly recording. In fact, when we finished the last album, we didn't really finish it; we just kept carried on recording. So that's how we do it. So, yeah, it'll be ready when it's ready."

Guitarist AJ Rebollo, who joined Bad Wolves as a touring member in 2023 before becoming a full member, has officially announced his departure from the band over ongoing disagreements with their record label.

Rebollo stated that the breaking point was the label's decision to push forward with releasing the band's cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" against the band's explicit objections following Parton's passing:

“I have been at odds with one too many decisions being made for the band for quite some time, but the final nail in the coffin was the label’s decision to move forward with the upcoming Dolly Parton cover, after we blatantly expressed our opposition. We, as an entity, told the label we had no interest in releasing the cover after learning of Dolly’s unfortunate passing as her collaboration on the song was no longer a possibility, and we felt it would (understandably) be interpreted as somewhat of a capitalization on her passing from an outside perspective. They went ahead and posted that we were releasing it anyway, despite efforts from more than one member, myself included, to oppose it.”

Former Bad Wolves frontman Tommy Vext also weighed in on Rebollo's exit and the conflict with the label, noting: "Maybe I wasn't the problem after all. This took a lot of balls to stand up against this label."
