Billy Strings has announced the postponement of his remaining spring tour dates after suffering a broken leg in what he described as a "freak skateboarding accident." The incident occurred backstage on Saturday night in Charlottesville, Virginia, just before his scheduled encore. Strings shared on social media that he attempted a "back 180"—a trick he has successfully landed countless times—but landed awkwardly, resulting in a visible and audible break.

While the guitarist initially considered performing from a chair, he ultimately decided that prioritizing his recovery and upcoming surgery was necessary to give fans the high-energy performances they expect. He noted that the first few days of healing are critical and that being on pain medication would hinder his ability to perform. Strings is currently expected to return to the stage in July. Fans are encouraged to hold onto their tickets as the tour dates are being rescheduled.

Thomas Dolby is set to lead the 2026 installment of the Totally Tubular Festival, a touring road show celebrating the music of the 1980s.
