Speaking with Oran O'Beirne at the U.K.'s Bloodstock Open Air festival, Kittie drummer Mercedes Lander and bassist Ivana "Ivy" Jenkins weighed in on how concert crowds have evolved since the band's late-'90s beginnings.

While Lander noted today's crowds are less aggressive and more mindful in the pit, both members expressed frustration with screen culture dominating the live experience:

"I feel like the mosh pits are a little more inclusive, maybe a little more 'helpy'. Like, if somebody falls down, they get picked back up instead of — I'm sure back then you were trampling over people and stuff like that. I feel like I've seen some really brutal pits back then. And I've seen a lot of people get hurt. And I don't see that as much now, which is kind of nice." — Mercedes Lander

"That's some people. And then there's lots of people who are definitely just staring at their phones instead of at the show. And that's also a bummer... I don't care if people take pictures or whatever. But I feel like you don't get the same experience when you're just staring behind your phone. You need to be present in the moment. And I don't know. Lander added that the band has even entertained the idea of phone restrictions, remarking, "We were, like, 'Oh, maybe we should ban phones from our headliners.' That would be nice."

Kittie recently wrapped their 16-date "Legacy Of Fire Tour: 30 Years Of Kittie," their first full North American headlining run in over a decade.

The band continues to ride the momentum of their 2024 comeback album Fire, which earned a Juno Award nomination, alongside their 2025 anniversary release Spit XXV.

In an interview with CCM Magazine, Skillet frontman and bassist John Cooper reflected on how the band achieved massive crossover success in the mainstream rock market without compromising their Christian faith.

Cooper explained that when transitioning onto secular rock radio, he made a conscious choice to be completely upfront about his beliefs from day one:

"I made the decision, when we were making that crossover, going into interviews… I knew there was going to be some people that were, like, not down with the Jesus stuff... And so I just decided, if they say, 'Are you a Christian band?' I'd [say], 'Absolutely. [I am] proud to be a Jesus freak.' ... When our song 'Monster' was beginning to hit at radio, we sat down, and the interviewer said, 'Okay, now some people are saying you guys are, like, Christians or something. That can't be true, right?' And I said, 'Oh, absolutely. We're Christians. Being a Christian is so much more important to me than being a rock star. I play music to express my love for God.' And [his] jaw dropped."

Cooper noted that honesty resonated across audiences, whether religious or not:

"I think it's that authenticity... I don't really know if they really care if you're Christian, atheist, Buddhist. I'm not sure they care. I think they just wanted to hear some rock music. And I think they connected with the songs. And we meet people every show. They're, like, 'I'm not really into the Jesus stuff, but your music makes me feel good.' Sometimes we meet people that say, 'I wasn't into the Jesus stuff, but your music brought me to God.'"

Skillet will drop their independent six-song EP, After The Storm, on October 9.

The band currently averages over 12 million monthly Spotify listeners, with their 6x-platinum smash "Monster" surpassing 5 billion global streams and entering Spotify's Billions Club.

Måneskin will officially reunite on stage at the 2027 Sanremo Music Festival, marking their first confirmed joint appearance since pausing band activities in 2024.

Festival host and artistic director Stefano De Martino confirmed that Damiano David, Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi, and Ethan Torchio will perform together at the iconic Teatro Ariston during the festival's 77th edition, scheduled for February 16–20, 2027.

The performance marks a major homecoming for the Rome rock outfit at the exact venue where they claimed victory in 2021 with "Zitti e buoni," which launched their global breakthrough and subsequent Eurovision win.

Following their worldwide success, multiple MTV Video Music Awards, and a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, the band paused group operations in 2024 to allow each member to explore individual solo ventures.

Alanis Morissette has filed a federal lawsuit in California against her 2025 European tour manager, Keren Urinov, accusing her of civil extortion, fraud, and negligent misrepresentation.

According to the complaint, the dispute traces back to a 2025 incident where British airport authorities arrested Urinov after flagging a bag containing marijuana and xylazine. Urinov also reportedly confessed during the run that she had once fled drug charges in Latin America after being caught smuggling narcotics in a surfboard.

The filing claims Urinov and her attorney subsequently sent "increasingly extortionate letters," threatening to report Morissette to U.K. police for drug trafficking unless the singer agreed to a 15-year contract with annual raises, bonuses, and U.S. work visa assistance: "Morissette brings this lawsuit reluctantly. But Morissette will not agree to work with an incompetent blackmailer for the next fifteen years or pay her a ransom under the gun.

Morissette is not interested in employing Urinov for fifteen years — not only because she is a blackmailer, but also because she was a terrible manager of the 2025 tour."

The lawsuit states Urinov also cost the production $70,000 due to a hotel booking error. Morissette is asking the court to order the return of more than $75,000, seek punitive damages, and request a jury trial.

Former Bad Wolves guitarist AJ Rebollo has issued a follow-up statement clarifying earlier claims regarding the band and label Better Noise Music over their heavy metal cover of the late Dolly Parton's "Jolene."

Rebollo explained that he had spoken directly with Better Noise chairman Allen Kovac and took full personal responsibility for previously asserting that the release lacked proper approval or band unity:

"At the end of the day, the band and label did, in fact, have the blessing of Dolly’s team to move forward with the cover, despite the fact that Dolly could no longer be involved, as previously planned. On top that, John, who is the head of Bad Wolves pertaining to all things business-related, and the contractually-obligated owner of the band, did give the green light to move forward with the release when the time came. This is something that was unknown to me, which inadvertently made my statement regarding the band being a united front in opposing the release, frankly, false."

While confirming his departure from Bad Wolves remains permanent, Rebollo urged fans to focus on the positive impact of the single, as all proceeds benefit Dolly Parton's Imagination Library:

"I am not retracting my departure, but I would like to, once again, encourage everybody upset by this to acknowledge the fact that Dolly’s team wanted this decision to come to fruition... there is no denying the fact that the proceeds from this track will bring about something great for Imagination Library and the kids who will receive books from the foundation."

Better Noise chairman Allen Kovac commended Rebollo's accountability, stating:

"It takes immense courage to publicly stand up, acknowledge a mistake, and set the record straight—especially in today’s fast-paced media landscape. I want to fully commend AJ for having the integrity and bravery to address the misinformation regarding the Bad Wolves and Dolly Parton collaboration."

In a recent interview with Hello! Magazine, Kelly Osbourne opened up about how the Osbourne family grieved following the passing of her father, legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, choosing to keep him at home rather than immediately sending him to a morgue:
