Megadeth made heavy metal history on Sunday night, April 26, by performing the Metallica classic "Ride the Lightning" live for the first time. The monumental debut took place 15 songs into the band's set at the Movistar Arena in Bogota, Colombia, in front of a sold-out crowd of 14,000 fans. The performance followed immediately after "Mechanix," another track Mustaine famously co-wrote during his tenure with Metallica before founding Megadeth.

The live debut comes months after the song was included as a bonus track on the band’s self-titled 17th studio album, which Mustaine has announced as Megadeth's final studio effort. In earlier interviews, Mustaine explained that recording the cover—the title track of Metallica's 1984 seminal album—was a way to pay respect to his roots and the "DNA" he contributed to the song’s composition. “As I come full circle on the career of a lifetime, the decision to include 'Ride The Lightning'... was to pay my respects to where my career first started,” Mustaine shared in January.

Bring Me The Horizon has officially added a new leg to their massive 2026 "Ascension Program" world tour, confirming a fall North American run that will see them hitting major arenas across Canada and the U.S. Midwest. Once again joining the British alternative metal stars as main support is industrial metalcore outfit Motionless In White, while platinum-certified melodic metalcore band The Plot In You will handle opening duties for this new set of dates.

The fall trek is set to kick off on September 20 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, making stops in major Canadian cities including Calgary, Ottawa, and Quebec City before crossing back into the U.S. for a performance in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This announcement comes just as the band’s spring leg is about to launch, including a highly anticipated show at Madison Square Garden on May 2. Pre-sales for the fall tour begin this Wednesday, April 29, at 10:00 AM local time, with general tickets going on sale this Friday, May 1.

Nonpoint has unveiled plans for their upcoming full-length album, The Last Word, slated for release in late summer 2026. The announcement coincides with the debut of the record’s first single, "Is It," which is currently available via an animated, hand-drawn lyric video ahead of its May 8 digital streaming launch. Wolfgang Van Halen has officially expanded his 2026 touring schedule, announcing a series of new U.S. headline dates for his band Mammoth.
