Shinedown has officially made history once again as their latest single, "Safe And Sound," reached the No. 1 spot on the Mediabase Active Rock chart. The milestone marks the band's 25th No. 1 single at the format, extending their own record for the most No. 1 songs in Mediabase Active Rock history. The chart-topping achievement arrives at a perfect time for the multi-platinum rock force, coming just ahead of the release of their highly anticipated eighth studio album, Ei8ht, which is scheduled to drop on May 29 via Atlantic Records.

The record was produced by bassist and songwriter Eric Bass at the band's Big Animal Studio in Charleston, South Carolina, and follows an incredible run of consecutive hits including "Dance, Kid, Dance," "Killing Fields," "Searchlight," and the multi-format crossover track "Three Six Five." Shinedown has been heavily promoting the release, recently performing on the grand finale of American Idol alongside finalist Philmon Lee and headlining the Sonic Temple festival. The band has also just kicked off their massive "Dance Kid Dance Act II" world tour, spanning 11 countries and over 50 dates.
