Jason Newsted is taking his long-running project, The Chophouse Band, on their first-ever proper North American headlining tour this summer. The 18-date trek kicks off on July 1 at the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton, Massachusetts, and includes eight headlining performances alongside ten dates supporting country rock icons Blackberry Smoke. The tour will visit key markets across the Midwest, South, and East Coast before concluding with a prestigious two-night stand at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on July 24-25.

Since its inception in 1992, The Chophouse Band has primarily performed at select benefit shows, making this tour a significant milestone for the group. Newsted describes their sound as "outsider Americana," blending elements of bluegrass, folk, soul, and rock with "slabs of metal" that reflect his heavy musical roots. The current touring lineup features Newsted on lead vocals and guitar, supported by Jesse Farnsworth, Jimbo Hart, Humberto Perez, and Robert John-Tucker. Tickets for the headlining dates go on sale this Friday, April 24, at 10 a.m. local time.

A previously unreleased recording from Prince, titled "With This Tear," has been officially released by NPG Records and Legacy Recordings. The tender, piano-driven ballad was originally recorded at Paisley Park in November 1991. Prince composed and produced the track himself, performing every instrument on the recording. While fans may recognize the song from Celine Dion’s 1992 self-titled album—for which Prince originally wrote the track—this marks the first time his own studio performance has been made available.

The single arrives just ahead of the 10th anniversary of the legendary artist's passing and serves as the first glimpse of a new vault project currently in development by the Prince estate. The track was mixed and mastered by Chris James, a Grammy-nominated engineer who previously worked on Prince’s HITnRUN series.
