Country superstar Morgan Wallen is facing heavy criticism from fans after making the decision to cancel his scheduled concert at Pittsburgh's Acrisure Stadium due to severe weather threats that never actually materialized. Wallen officially called off the stadium show a little after 1:00 p.m. local time, releasing a statement that cited consultations with local officials and his team regarding severe adverse weather conditions expected throughout the rest of the day and night. While a wave of storms did roll through the area around 3:00 p.m., the weather completely cleared up well before the concert's scheduled 8:00 p.m. start time. Conditions turned out so pleasant that a local independent league baseball team, the Washington Wild Things, successfully played their Saturday night game and even offered free admission to displaced concertgoers, while other fans gathered to tailgate outside the empty stadium anyway.

Wallen took to Instagram late Saturday night to post a video defending himself against the backlash and what he labeled as "nonsense" rumors regarding his operation. The singer explained that his team approached him on his tour bus advising a cancellation based on warnings of strong winds that could potentially make his massive stage structure fatal to those around it. "That was the information I had in the moment, and I trusted my team," Wallen stated, acknowledging that while the severe weather missed Pittsburgh, it had impacted other areas of Pennsylvania. Wallen's "Still The Problem Tour" is currently scheduled to resume later this month in Chicago.
