Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain has reignited the rock-and-roll political culture war, sharply criticizing Bruce Springsteen for his outspoken political stances. In a recent interview with The Complete Disaster Network, Cain—who is a devout born-again Christian married to Paula White-Cain, Donald Trump's senior advisor to the White House Faith Office—argued that celebrities should keep their personal views to themselves and focus purely on their art.

"I'm obviously a conservative... And guys like Bruce Springsteen should shut up," Cain stated. "Honestly, shut up, Bruce. Who's the other one? Robert De Niro. I mean, who cares, guys? Really? Do your art."

Cain went on to call Springsteen an "annoying, bitter old man" and took specific aim at the classic track "Born In The USA," characterizing the anthem as a "diss to our country." (Springsteen has historically noted in his memoir that the track is indeed a protest song about a forgotten Vietnam War veteran). While Cain claims he tries to keep politics out of Journey's music, he proudly aligned himself with his friend Kid Rock, declaring them "a couple of patriots" standing on an island together.

Cain isn't alone in his frustration. Staind frontman Aaron Lewis previously echoed those anti-Springsteen sentiments on The Tucker Carlson Show, stating that The Boss has "lost touch with the struggle" of working-class Americans and calling his career "a disgusting display of not appreciating what was handed to him."

The political rift continues as Journey prepares to launch the newly extended leg of their massive "Final Frontier Tour," which kicks off on September 12th at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and runs through November. Meanwhile, Springsteen remains a vocal critic of Donald Trump, previously calling him a "moron" and a "demagogue" during his 2025 stadium tour—prompting Trump to fire back on social media by calling Springsteen a "bad, and very boring singer."

Outlaw country artist Charley Crockett has seemingly deactivated most of his major social media accounts less than a week after revealing he dropped opening act Twin Temple from his upcoming shows due to their "Satanic imagery."

The openly Satanic doo-wop revival duo was originally scheduled to open a pair of stops for Crockett in Oregon and California later this month. After Twin Temple announced their sudden removal from the bill, Crockett initially took to Facebook and Instagram to double down on his decision. "I won't conform and I'm not sorry," Crockett wrote in a July 10 post.

However, by July 15, both his Facebook and Instagram pages were completely deactivated, displaying "content isn't available" error messages, while his X (formerly Twitter) account was either deleted or made private. As of July 16, only his TikTok account remains active. Despite the online drama, Crockett went ahead with his scheduled performance in Troutdale, Oregon, and is next set to play in Bend, Oregon.

Meanwhile, things are looking up for Twin Temple. Following their removal from Crockett's dates, the duo accepted an invitation from Jack White to open his upcoming show at the Hollywood Palladium on September 29th. They are also gearing up to join Danzig for a six-show run starting September 11th and have announced their fourth full-length studio album, Doomed Lovers, arriving on October 9th.

During a guest appearance on U2 guitarist The Edge’s SiriusXM series Close To The Edge, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich opened up about the band’s highly anticipated upcoming residency at the Las Vegas Sphere. Reflecting on the scale of the venue, Ulrich admitted that preparing for the high-tech production has been both overwhelming and intimidating as they prepare to transition directly from their massive "M72" world tour.

Ulrich, who attended U2's opening night at the venue in 2023, revealed that Metallica has already spent a year and a half quietly working on the production. "We'll take a couple weeks to chill out, but then we gotta start thinking about scaling the Sphere mountain and conquering that," Ulrich explained, noting that the band usually prefers environments they can completely control. The 95-year-old Canadian Star Trek legend is slated to debut his new metal project, *The uckers, at this September's Riot Fest in Chicago, but he has reportedly sent the independently-owned festival a long rider filled with outlandish demands.

Organizers for the three-day music festival have spent years sending letters to the entertainer in a relentless campaign to get him on the bill. Shatner finally agreed, stating in a video message that he decided to debut his new heavy metal record at the event because the promoters were such big fans.

Now, they just have to accommodate his massive rider. The leaked requirements list demands split between the festival and the city of Chicago itself, including:

For the City: Renaming a local boat in his honor so he can captain a ship again, and co-anchoring the weather outside with Chicago's most beloved meteorologist.

For the Performance: Replacing his artist golf cart with a DeLorean, securing an introduction video created by GWAR, and hiring "many" fire breathers.

For Hospitality: Dressing room themed as "Shatner's Shag Shack," four feet of Polish sausage, eight pallets of Faygo (strictly "not to be shared with Insane Clown Posse"), and an assortment of adoptable puppies from a local rescue.

While the specifics of the extensive backstage conditions are wild, Shatner's ambitious new musical venture is already turning heads. The sci-fi icon has assembled a serious backing band for the festival, bringing together former Ozzy Osbourne bassist Phil Soussan, Vixen guitarist Britt Lightning, flamenco guitarist Marcus Nand, and Powerflo drummer Fred Aching.

Mötley Crüe officially kicked off their highly anticipated "The Return Of Carnival Of Sins" tour on Friday night, July 17th, at the Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. Poppy’s scheduled performance at the annual Upheaval Festival in Grand Rapids, Michigan, left many fans in attendance confused on Friday, July 17th. While the alternative metal artist herself never took to the stage, her masked backing bandmates did, delivering an entirely instrumental set while wearing respiratory breathing masks for protection.

The debut single from With A Vengeance, titled "Shared Light," has officially premiered online. The new outfit was formed by former Bad Wolves members Tommy Vext (vocals) and Chris Cain (guitars). The project originally spawned after a failed attempt by Vext and Cain to purchase the rights to the Bad Wolves name for an intended relaunch of that band.

Moving forward under the new moniker, the pair assembled a powerhouse backing lineup to round out the band's official roster. Joining Vext and Cain are renowned virtuoso guitarist Angel Vivaldi, drummer Austin D’Amond (known for his work in Chimaira, Bleed The Sky, and Verona On Venus), and bassist Xander Raymond Charles.

To complement the proper introduction of the band, a cinematic music video for "Shared Light" has been released, directed by Shane Hansen.
