In a recent interview with Hello! Magazine, Kelly Osbourne opened up about how the Osbourne family grieved following the passing of her father, legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, choosing to keep him at home rather than immediately sending him to a morgue:

“We didn’t put my dad in any sort of morgue. He came straight home and we got to spend a few days with him and mourn with him and make sure that everything was the way we wanted it to be.”

Kelly also expressed deep gratitude for the massive global outpouring of love from fans during their time of mourning:

“Black Sabbath fans saved us. Every note, every flower, every gift that was sent to us—we received, we read, we acknowledged, and the people we could find the time to write back to and thank, we did. It showed us that they loved him as much as we loved them. Because he really did.”

TAMA has officially launched the new Anika Nilles Signature Snare Drum, developed across more than two years to deliver warmth, projection, and vintage-inspired articulation.

The 14x6.5" seamless aluminum snare features Sound Arc Hoops, four center rigidity grooves, and a newly designed "Mod-Tone Muffler" for instant damping control.

The instrument's debut arrives as Nilles holds down the drum throne on RUSH's massive "Fifty Something" tour alongside Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. Speaking about stepping into the legendary catalog of Neil Peart, Nilles shared:

"I treat the music with great respect to the guys and also to Neil's parts, because Neil is a big part of the music. And so I try to make careful decisions with a great deal of sensitivity of what I'm playing original and where there is room for me to play more free or more me or more improvising... Neil's way to play the drums is basically an own composition, and this is what I mean. I treat it with great respect because that's a huge skill he brought into it, and I wanna honor that."

Geddy Lee also explained the decision to bring Nilles into the fold:

"First of all, I think Alex and I wanted to stay away from the obvious comparisons... So I think what appealed to us about Anika — first of all, we were so thrilled to see how well she plays and her technical ability... We wanted somebody fresh, someone that had a story, someone whose story would be welcomed by our fans. And I think Anika fits that bill completely."

Pete Townshend has officially canceled his scheduled appearance at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival in Austin, Texas, citing physical limitations and travel concerns following an injury and recovery complications.

Townshend shared a statement explaining that damage to his foot, balance issues, and recovery from a February 2025 knee replacement made long-distance travel from London impossible at this time:

“I’m so sorry to say that due to damage to my left foot, and subsequent issues with my balance, I cannot commit to travel to appear at the upcoming Crossroads Festival in Austin. I so desperately wanted to appear, and have battled to get in shape, and I am improving, but the long flights from London, and the jetlag on my return, would cause backtracking I really can’t afford.”

Despite not taking the stage, Townshend confirmed he is donating $50,000 to Clapton's Crossroads Centre from his charity, Double O. He also expressed gratitude to Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, who had offered to serve as his backing band, noting his focus is now on getting well to work with Roger Daltrey and The Who in the future.

The 2026 Crossroads Guitar Festival takes place September 26–27 in Austin.

Mexican rock powerhouse The Warning has been officially announced as the halftime show headliner for the 2026 NFL Mexico City Game featuring the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, November 22.

The sister trio—Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra Villarreal—expressed their excitement about taking the major international stage in their home country:

“We are beyond thrilled to be part of this NFL event in our home country and at such an iconic stadium. We love the NFL, and every time we work together, we cannot wait to do it again. During a Q&A session at Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp, John 5 reflected on stepping into Mötley Crüe in the fall of 2022 to replace co-founding guitarist Mick Mars, sharing how natural the transition felt due to his longtime bond with the band:

"Nikki gave me [a list of] the songs [to learn] and he goes, 'Okay, learn these.' And I'm thinking to myself, 'I know these songs. I've known [these songs] forever. I know these songs just like the whole world knows these songs.' So it was wonderful. I was super excited... It's just been a dream. It's just been so much fun. All we do is laugh and have a great time."

Drummer Tommy Lee also spoke about the massive spark John 5 brought to the lineup:

"When John came in, and with all due respect to Mick Mars, [John] brought this f*ing fire, this new fire and excitement to every one of us. It was just this giant, like... I don't know, man. Shit just got really, really good. And he's an incredible guitar player, and he's a sweetheart."

Pearl Jam is giving fans a piece of Philadelphia rock history with the official vinyl release of their legendary 2016 performance of Ten.

During their April 2016 stop at Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center, Eddie Vedder and company surprised the sold-out crowd by tearing through their iconic 1991 debut album front-to-back in its original track sequence—from "Once" all the way through "Release."

The historic set marked one of the extremely rare occasions the band performed the landmark multi-platinum record in its entirety live.

Bad Wolves have officially released their heavy metal rendition of Dolly Parton's "Jolene," moving forward with the track following the departure of guitarist AJ Rebollo, who quit the group in protest of its release.

In a press release, drummer John Boecklin revealed that the song was originally intended to feature vocals from Parton herself before her passing:

"Our new singer [Sara "Killboy" Skinner] is a big fan of Dolly and had posted a bunch of videos of her covering 'Jolene.' So we decided to make a heavy metal cover version for our next album. On hearing our version, our label CEO Dan Waite sent the finished demo to Dolly's manager Danny Nozell with a request for Dolly to guest feature on our version. We heard back that Danny had played the track to Dolly and that Dolly loved our version and that Dolly was going to go into the studio and add her vocals very soon."

Boecklin noted that the band was devastated by Parton's death and confirmed that proceeds from the single will go directly to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

P.O.D. have officially completed work on their upcoming studio album, the direct follow-up to 2024's Veritas. The sessions took place at Memory Music Studios in South Philadelphia alongside Grammy-winning producer Will Yip.

Guitarist Marcos Curiel and bassist Mark "Traa" Daniels spoke with FemMetal about teaming up with Yip and pushing their sound forward:

"It just happened organically. And we were able to do a record with him, and we're really super proud of it... I think there's a lot of threads coming from 'Veritas'. It's kind of an extension, but it's also, I would wanna say a growth. So you guys are just gonna have to wait and see." — Marcos Curiel

Daniels teased that the new material features a thought-provoking concept:

"Marcos had an amazing concept for this record... that I think are gonna be really thought-provoking once people actually listen to the music. Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has addressed his recent on-stage reaction to a strict no-smoking policy while opening for the Foo Fighters at Detroit’s Ford Field, where he lit a cigarette on stage despite facing a potential $10,000 fine.

Homme explained that his frustration was not about the cigarette itself, but rather about excessive corporate restrictions placed on concertgoers paying for live entertainment:

“It had nothing to do with smoking. It’s about monopolies and corporations that charge you $85 for parking, and $30 for a beer, and tell you, ‘You can’t go here, but you can go here.' It’s about controlling fun. The example of smoking just doesn’t matter. That’s not important. It’s about being constantly told what to do when you yourself are paying for a moment of escapism. It’s like having to have fun with the hall monitors.”
