Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee is looking back on the massive impact of "End of You," celebrating the historic chart run of the collaborative track featuring Poppy and Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox.

Originally sparked by an idea from producer Jordan Fish and Poppy, the powerhouse anthem made history by becoming the first song led by three women to claim the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart since 1981.

"Everyone added their own spice and it turned into a song that blew up," Lee shared. "Women are kinda ruling heavy music right now."

Having just wrapped up a major U.S. run supporting Evanescence's album Sanctuary alongside Spiritbox, the band heads across the pond this September for a U.K. and European tour with Poppy—with Lee promising more live performances and collaborations on the horizon.

The resurrected Ozzfest has officially confirmed that its 2027 return will take place at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK.

The announcement cements plans previously revealed by Sharon Osbourne to bring the iconic festival back to the legendary home of Aston Villa—the same venue where Black Sabbath and the festival's late namesake, Ozzy Osbourne, performed their historic 'Back To The Beginning' farewell concert in July 2025.

While specific dates and lineup details remain pending, discussions with artists are already underway, and the 2027 run is also expected to include dates in the United States.

Heavy metal supergroup Down—featuring Philip H. Anselmo, Pepper Keenan, Kirk Windstein, Jimmy Bower, and Pat Bruders—officially launched their two-week "Strap It Down" North American trek Saturday night at The Eastern in Atlanta, Georgia.

Touring alongside Helmet and Spirit In The Room, the headlining run builds major momentum toward the band's long-awaited new studio album via Nuclear Blast Records. Windstein recently revealed that recording for the 10-track record is officially complete, with the group currently selecting a mixer and targeting an October release.

"The work is done. We just need to find the right person to mix it properly," Windstein shared. "When we started writing for this new record, it was like we were back in the '90s or something, writing the NOLA record... The chemistry is just undeniable. It's just magic."

When reports first broke in late July, Root urged the metal community to exercise caution, writing on social media: "Don’t believe every thing you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information."

"You couldn’t even believe what I wrote. At the time I wrote it… I didn’t know what to believe," Root admitted. "I stand by it though. I still don’t think anyone should believe everything that they read. Time will tell. As it did for my post that didn’t age well."

A Killer's Confession, the alternative metal group fronted by former Mushroomhead vocalist Waylon Reavis, has released a fresh take on The Weeknd's global megahit "Blinding Lights."

Stepping back from their usual heavy sound, the band delivers a stripped-down, melodic rendition centered on Reavis's vocals. Following the strong fan response to their previous cover of Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box," Reavis decided to explore a completely different genre to close out the narrative arc of their upcoming music.

"This time I wanted to do something in a different genre and go a completely different route," Reavis explained. "I always enjoy the song 'Blinding Lights'; [there's] just something catchy and haunting about it. I feel like it could be the perfect song to be stuck in our character's head for the last time ever as we end this trilogy."

The standalone cover arrives as the band prepares to release their sixth studio album, Victim 3, via MNRK Heavy and launch their headlining "Everything Comes Full Circle Tour" this fall alongside Dizasterpiece and Dead Things.
