In a recent interview with Rock 102.1 KFMA's Razor, Shinedown guitarist Zach Myers addressed bassist Eric Bass's decision to step away from the band's current "Dance, Kid, Dance Act II" North American tour. Bass revealed in July that he experienced a serious mental health crash and chose to prioritize his well-being by undergoing talk therapy and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. Myers voiced total support for his bandmate, explaining that Bass carries an immense workload handling writing, recording, and mixing for the group alongside their demanding schedule.

"I told Eric, I go, 'You gotta take some pride in the fact that it takes two people to fill in for you, because you do so many things.'"

To fill the void on stage, Shinedown recruited Josh Sturm of Kairos and Zack Mack of Smith & Myers, both of whom remarkably learned 45 songs in just four days. Hard rock powerhouse Breaking Benjamin has scored another milestone as their latest single "Something Wicked" reached No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. The accomplishment marks the band's ninth career No. 1 hit on the chart while serving as a preview for their upcoming full-length album. Originally debuted live at Welcome To Rockville earlier this year, the track has already amassed nearly 11 million global streams. It also secured top spots on both the Apple Music and iTunes Rock charts during its first week of release.

"'Something Wicked' is a quick look into our influences both musically and thematically. We challenged ourselves especially hard on this record and on this song. We pushed every boundary we've previously had as far as it will go, then pushed a little more. 'Something Wicked' was the result."

This latest success follows their 2024 single "Awaken," which topped the Rock Digital Songs chart and surpassed 133 million streams worldwide. To celebrate their new material, Breaking Benjamin will launch a headlining U.S. fall tour starting September 2 in Camden, New Jersey, and running through late October in Bristow, Virginia. Sharon Osbourne has confirmed ongoing talks to officially bring back Ozzfest in 2027, launching the iconic festival at Villa Park in Birmingham, U.K.—the venue that hosted Ozzy Osbourne's final "Back To The Beginning" performance.

Speaking with Metal Hammer, Sharon revealed that discussions with potential artists are already underway and an official announcement is expected soon. The initial plan calls for a two-day event at Villa Park followed by a two-day installment in North America, with the potential to return to a full touring format in 2028 and beyond if fan demand continues.

"Of course we're speaking to people," Sharon shared. "I can't let that out yet, but it'll be soon... We wanna do two days in Aston Villa and then come to America. And we wanna hear from everyone where we should go in America. And also we've gotta find a lot of young, new talent, because that's what [Ozzy] would want."

Citing Queen's live execution of "Bohemian Rhapsody" as early inspiration, Sixx maintained that the core performance remains completely authentic.

"Since we saw Queen using some to help during the song Bohemian Rhapsody live, we understood that we could bring in elements that we could not do live like orchestras, saxophones, etc., etc. and sync them up with what we are playing and we do play 100% live," Sixx said. "And it’s better for the fans and we enjoy being able to do what we did in the Studio live. It’s a win win for us."
