Downing, emphasizing that "the love and respect" between them remains intact despite years of public tension. Speaking with Metal Hammer about the upcoming documentary The Ballad of Judas Priest, Halford stressed that Downing’s participation was vital to accurately telling the band's 50-year history. "He was there at the very beginning," Halford noted, highlighting the enduring value of the songs they co-wrote together.

The documentary, co-directed by Sam Dunn and Tom Morello, is set for its North American premiere at the Hot Docs festival in Toronto, running from April 23 to May 3. Jay Weinberg has provided his most candid look yet at his 2023 departure from Slipknot, suggesting he may have been caught in the crossfire of long-standing internal tensions. Speaking with Rolling Stone, Weinberg detailed a "tense year" leading up to his firing, which he says came without a clear explanation just as he was preparing for a necessary hip surgery. "As a newcomer... it’s easy to be caught in the crossfire there," Weinberg noted, adding that after 10 years and a Grammy win, the sudden "creative decision" to let him go remains confusing.

Weinberg said, "I applied myself in every way possible. As a newcomer, and like you mentioned, you’re like ‘Are you in the band? Are you not in the band?’ How do you define that after 10 years? It’s not a short amount of time. But it’s easy for a newcomer, for myself, to be caught in the crossfire there. Maybe I became a scapegoat for certain things."

The drummer also addressed his time with Against Me! and Madball, specifically touching on the public criticisms from Laura Jane Grace. Weinberg stated he prefers to "keep his side of the street clean" and move past old "potatoes." Currently, he is focusing on new creative horizons, including his work with Suicidal Tendencies and his burgeoning solo project, which features collaborations with members of Deafheaven and Code Orange. A full-length solo album is currently slated for release this October, as Weinberg embraces more "positive creative environments."

Godsmack has officially announced its new touring lineup following the retirement of longtime members Tony Rombola and Shannon Larkin. Tim Montana has put his unique tour bus up for auction, a 1998 Prevost Marathon XL originally commissioned by Charlie Sheen. According to Sheen, he designed the bus during a "12-day bender" to resemble a swanky Los Angeles bar called Bar One. After acquiring the vehicle, Montana renovated the interior to better suit a touring band, replacing the bar-style layout with six bunks, while retaining features like plush red couches, two bathrooms, and a full kitchen.

The bus, which Sheen used during his time on Two and a Half Men, is now live for bidding starting at $5,000. This sale coincides with a busy period for Montana, who just released the single "Break Me Down" and is preparing for the July 17 release of his new album, Entire State of Tim Montana.
