Nü-metal icons Limp Bizkit have uploaded their poignant video tribute honoring their fallen co-founding bassist and vocalist, Sam Rivers, who tragically passed away on October 18, 2025, at the age of 48. The newly released digital video package is set to the band's emotional 2003 track "Drown" and is the exact same visual tribute the band originally debuted on stage last fall. That emotional performance took place on November 29, 2025, at the Estadio Fray Nano in Mexico City, Mexico—marking the band's first concert since Rivers' passing and the live debut of his successor, Ecca Vandal bassist Richie "Kid Not" Buxton.

The online release of the tribute has prompted another wave of global remembrance for Rivers, whose technically gifted playing anchors Limp Bizkit's biggest hits. Frontman Fred Durst expressed the massive weight of Rivers' legacy within the video, stating, "What he’s left us behind is priceless. He was such a special person". This follows the band's collective statement last October where they described their late bandmate as "the pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound".

Adding to the tributes, Korn bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu recently shared an emotional and rare look back at Rivers' talent during an appearance on the Shady Characters podcast. Fieldy recalled their extensive history sharing the stage in the 1990s and early 2000s, remembering a nightly touring gag where they would playfully swap mid-song bass duties before the era of social media. Fieldy candidly admitted that even in the early days of Korn, when he first jammed with a young Rivers and drummer John Otto in Jacksonville, he was immediately humbled by Rivers' skills. "The way that he moves his fingers and the way that he finesses the strings. He's sick," Fieldy praised, adding that he openly told Rivers, "I suck man. You are dope. You’re so much better than me... That’s one of my two favorite rhythm sections".

Sleep Theory has issued a heartfelt statement and made a significant financial contribution following the tragic passing of 28-year-old fan Danielle Uskiwich, who suffered a fatal medical emergency after an incident at the 2026 Pointfest in St. Louis last month. Taking to Instagram on June 1, the band expressed their deep devastation, extending their love, thoughts, and prayers to Uskiwich's friends, family, and fiancé during what they described as an unimaginably painful and heartbreaking time. In addition to their words of support, the band stepped up as the top donor to a GoFundMe campaign established for Uskiwich, contributing $5,000 to help alleviate her family's sudden medical and financial burdens.

The tragedy began during Sleep Theory's festival set when Uskiwich, a middle school secretary, was accidentally kicked in the head by a crowd surfer. After complaining of persistent headaches, she was admitted to the hospital four days later on May 19, where doctors discovered a brain bleed. She subsequently suffered two major strokes, underwent emergency surgery, and was placed in a medically induced coma before tragically passing away on May 26.

In a bittersweet turn, her best friend Courtney Neisler shared with local news station KSDK that the family wants the public to know the crowd-surfing kick was not the ultimate cause of death. Instead, the impact acted as a "blessing in disguise" by forcing her to the hospital, where doctors discovered a previously undetected, underlying issue with blood clots. Neisler noted that without the accidental kick, the family would never have had the chance to properly say goodbye. Uskiwich was an organ donor, ensuring that her legacy of touching lives continues even after her passing.
