Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) will celebrate three decades of holiday rock traditions with a massive 30th-anniversary winter tour launching this November.

The multi-platinum progressive rock collective will present a completely reimagined production of their beloved rock opera, The Ghosts Of Christmas Eve, paired with an energetic second set loaded with greatest hits, cutting-edge pyrotechnics, and lasers.

Guitarist and music director Al Pitrelli emphasized the group's ongoing dedication to delivering an unforgettable, family-accessible experience:

"Thirty years in, we never take a single person in that audience for granted. With the economy the way that it is right now, it shouldn't be a mortgage payment for a family to come out to see us. Paul O'Neill was very adamant about giving people in the audience more 'show' than they could've even imagined, and that's what we do every year. We reimagine the show, we rebuild it, we make it bigger than last year so people come back again... We want to make sure you guys can come out and celebrate because you and everyone in that audience are the greatest fans in the world."

To keep the milestone tour accessible, TSO has expanded lower-priced ticket options in every city. National and local pre-sales begin September 17, with general public sales opening September 18. Continuing their longstanding tradition, at least $1 from every ticket sold will benefit local charities across North America.

The estate of late Mastodon guitarist and co-founder Brent Hinds has filed a civil lawsuit against surviving bandmates Brann Dailor, Troy Sanders, and Bill Kelliher in Fulton County Court, alleging Hinds was never properly bought out of his share of the band's businesses prior to his death in August 2025.

According to the complaint, Mastodon issued the estate an $80,000 buyout check following an unsigned separation agreement, which the estate has held off on cashing until a comprehensive accounting audit determines what Hinds is truly owed after 25 years with the group.

The lawsuit also targets the band's use of Hinds' likeness to promote their recent album, Marrow Deep, noting his face was incorporated into the album cover art beneath Atropos—the Greek Fate who severs the thread of life—despite Hinds not playing on the record:

"Defendants selected and placed a recognizable image of Brent on the album cover of 'Marrow Deep' and disseminated that cover to advertise, market, distribute, and sell physical albums, digital downloads and streams, merchandise, and related goods or services."

Additionally, the filing criticizes the band's recent 35-minute documentary, The Mastodon In The Room, claiming the surviving members disclosed private personal matters—including struggles with substance abuse—that Hinds chose to keep private during his lifetime.

The musical legacy of the late Chester Bennington is entering a new chapter, as his child Violet Bennington has officially announced her debut single, "Follow Your Heart."

Taking to Instagram to share the news, Violet expressed her excitement about stepping out with her first official release later this month:

“Been living life lately, working on the music like crazy! Sept 23rd we’re releasing the first single ‘Follow Your Heart’ and I’m so excited!”

The announcement quickly received heartfelt encouragement from within the family, including a supportive message from Chester's ex-wife, Samantha Bennington:

“I am incredibly proud of you and so grateful to experience how you share your love to the world.”

Born to Chester and Samantha in 2002, Violet has long been noted within family circles for carrying an innate passion for songwriting and performance, making this upcoming release a natural next step in honoring a profound musical lineage.

Guitar virtuoso Nita Strauss is set to rejoin the Alice Cooper lineup this winter for upcoming dates of the collaborative "Welcome To Our Nightmare" residency with illusionist Criss Angel at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Strauss, who has performed with Cooper since 2014, last took the stage with the rock icon in early March before stepping away on maternity leave to start a family. Guitarist Anna Cara, who has been handling tour duties throughout 2026, will finish out the upcoming legs of Cooper's "Alice's Attic" tour through late November.

Cooper expressed his excitement about welcoming "Hurricane" Nita back to wrap up the year:

"We added the November and December shows after the March, April and May shows sold out so quickly, so that more of our fans could experience this very special show that Criss and I created. Nita opened our 2026 touring season in Las Vegas back in March and is now returning to close out 2026 with us there, and we're really looking forward to welcoming the Hurricane back onto the stage. Bringing Nita back after she took a break to start a family is the perfect way to wrap up 2026.

We couldn't believe our luck when we confirmed Anna Cara to fill in for her for all of our shows across North America and Europe this year. Anna has been a true asset to the tour and she's now part of the family. Who could ask for anything more than to have these two amazing musicians in the Cooper family?"

Strauss will perform during the four newly added dates at the Criss Angel Theatre on November 27–28 and December 4–5.

Appearing on BBC Radio 1 with host Jack Saunders ahead of the premiere of "Arsenal," Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor offered insight into the aggressive new track and the creative direction of the band's next chapter.

The surprise release marks several major milestones for the Iowa nine: their first output since parting ways with turntablist Sid Wilson, their first recorded material featuring drummer Eloy Casagrande, and the debut release on their newly minted imprint, (sic)est Records, launched in partnership with Roadrunner Records/Atlantic.

Taylor described the track's relentless energy and teased the sonic shifts fans can expect as sessions continue with producer Matt Wallace:

"It pummels. I mean it is absolutely a pummeling experience… Like it’s got these great moments of hyperactivity and then complete flex. It’s like we’ve got everyone by the hair and we’re just going, ‘Go, Go, Go!’

We’re definitely exploring the realm that we’ve kind of been in for a long time, and bringing in elements that we have never done before… People are gonna be like when they hear it, ‘There’s no way that’s Slipknot. There is no actual way that that is Slipknot.’ I’m here to tell you 100%, you’re damn right it is."

With Wallace co-producing and mixing, the band remains hard at work tracking their forthcoming eighth studio album.

Grunge and punk icons L7 have confirmed that former bassist Janis Tanaka will rejoin the band for their upcoming farewell run, "The Last Hurrah" tour, stepping in following the tragic death of longtime bassist Jennifer Finch this past July.

The band shared that Tanaka—who previously held down bass duties for L7 from 1999 to 2001—returns with the full blessing of Finch prior to her passing:

“Although we will miss our Jennifer Finch terribly, she gave her blessing to welcome back L7’s bass player Janis Tanaka to replace her. Janis was our bass player from 1999-2001 and we are stoked to have her back and rocking with us again. LOOK OUT, she kicks ass! Please give Janis a warm welcome back!”

Finch passed away on July 18 at age 59 following a battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Her upcoming memoir, Shooting Up And Making Out: A Memoir Of My Life In LA And L7, is scheduled for release on January 19, 2027.

AC/DC's scheduled September 16 concert at Toronto’s 50,000-capacity Rogers Stadium has officially been canceled after an extreme storm caused extensive damage across the grounds.

The severe weather event on September 2—described by on-site meteorologists as a suspected microburst and a "100-year storm"—left large sections of stadium bleachers collapsed, temporary structures destroyed, and debris scattered across the facility. Following an engineering assessment conducted with the City of Toronto, officials determined the impacted areas must be completely removed and rebuilt.

Wayne Zronik, President of Business Operations for Live Nation Canada, addressed the difficult decision:

"Cancelling a concert is never a decision we want to make, and we know how disappointing this will be for all of us who have been looking forward to seeing AC/DC close out our summer season. Safety has to come first. Our teams have been working closely with the City and our partners to understand the storm damage and what needs to happen next. The right decision is to take the time to remove and rebuild the affected parts of the stadium to ensure it is ready to welcome fans next summer."

All tickets purchased through Ticketmaster will be automatically refunded, while fans who secured seats via third-party resale platforms are advised to contact their original point of purchase.

The surviving members of Soundgarden—guitarist Kim Thayil, drummer Matt Cameron, and bassist Ben Shepherd—took the field last night at Seattle's Lumen Field for a special halftime performance during the Seattle Seahawks' season opener against the New England Patriots.

Filling the towering shoes of the late Chris Cornell was The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen, who joined the trio alongside Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready for an explosive medley of grunge classics "Outshined" and "Spoonman."

Prior to kickoff, McCready also kicked off the festivities by performing a blistering, Jimi Hendrix-inspired rendition of the U.S. National Anthem, later remarking on the pressure:

"It's way scary in a way, because I want to do it right and I don't want to mess it up, so that's going through my head every time. I've done it a bunch of times; I just want to do it how I do it, and hopefully it means something, and I do it right, so there's pressure there."

The halftime performance follows their memorable collaboration at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony late last year. Meanwhile, Thayil, Cameron, and Shepherd continue work on the final Soundgarden album featuring unreleased Chris Cornell vocal tracks, collaborating with longtime producer Terry Date and mixer Joe Barresi.
