$Enigmatic Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer frontman Maynard James Keenan has been slapped with a lawsuit by a former business partner regarding their joint craft spirits venture in Arizona. Filed on June 6th, 2026, in the Maricopa County Superior Court by plaintiff Dave Sanclemente, the civil complaint targets Keenan alongside craft distillery entity Potions, LLC—the parent oversight management firm behind Thirteen Moons Gin—and fellow company co-managers Tim White and Calvin Arnold. Sanclemente alleges the named trio actively "conspired in bad faith" to systematically strip him of his day-to-day operational responsibilities, terminate his consulting agreement, and ban him from the company's headquarters. According to court documents available via Courthouse News, the professional relationship fractured around November 2025 after Sanclemente lodged a series of formal, internal corporate complaints concerning Keenan's behavioral conduct. The plaintiff contends these complaints involved reported workplace issues at Keenan’s other brick-and-mortar Arizona establishments—which notably span caduceus cellars, vineyard tasting rooms, and a martial arts dojo—and focused on behavior Sanclemente believed to be outright illegal. The filing alleges the subsequent boardroom freeze-out transpired just one month later as immediate, direct retaliation for speaking up about matters entirely separate from the baseline business goals of Thirteen Moons Gin. Because of the alleged ousting, Sanclemente's legal team is suing for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and a violation of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing.
