Breaking Benjamin capped off a week of cryptic teasers last night with a massive payoff at the Welcome To Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida. Deviating from their usual protocol of releasing studio tracks before playing them live, the multi-platinum band treated the massive crowd to the world premiere of a brand-new song titled "Something Wicked." For fans who weren't at the barricade, a studio version of the track is already available for pre-save.

The set also marked a significant turning point for the band's lineup, serving as the official debut of new drummer Brian Medeiros (formerly of RED and Otherwise). Medeiros takes over the throne from James Cassells of Asking Alexandria, who had been filling in on a temporary basis. In a collective statement, the band thanked Cassells for his "legendary" help and officially welcomed Medeiros to the road. Adding to the night's highlights, the group also reunited on stage with Flyleaf’s Lacey Sturm for a powerful performance of their collaborative hit, "Dear Agony," alongside a recurring cameo from Halo’s Master Chief.

Bruce Dickinson is taking a stand against the skyrocketing costs of the concert industry, explaining that Iron Maiden intentionally keeps their ticket prices below the "general norm." Speaking at the London premiere of the band's new film, Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition, on May 5, the legendary frontman argued that the front of the stage should be the most reasonably priced area in a venue. According to Dickinson, those prime spots should be occupied by "real fans" and "young kids" who bring the necessary energy to a show, rather than just the wealthiest attendees.

Beyond the live sector, Dickinson offered a blunt assessment of the digital landscape, accusing streaming platforms like Spotify of "ripping off musicians" by paying them nearly nothing while still failing to turn a profit themselves. He suggested that for the industry to be sustainable, streaming services must pay artists properly—even if that means listeners have to pay more for access. While acknowledging that some artists can command four-figure ticket prices, Dickinson reiterated that Iron Maiden remains committed to staying "within the bounds of reason" to ensure their music remains accessible to the fans who keep it alive.

The Rolling Stones joined Conan O’Brien in Brooklyn last week for a special event to discuss their milestone 25th studio album, Foreign Tongues. During the conversation, Mick Jagger shared the serendipitous story of how Robert Smith of The Cure ended up on the record. Jagger recalled arriving at a London studio to find a man in a black gown and lipstick standing with his back to him. After realizing it was Smith, whom he had never actually met, Jagger told him, "Well, while you’re here then you better go do something!" leading to Smith recording backing vocals on the spot.

The collaboration is just one of several high-profile appearances on the new project. Foreign Tongues, scheduled for release on July 10, also features contributions from Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. Notably, the album will include posthumous recordings from the band’s longtime drummer, the late Charlie Watts. The announcement marks a massive chapter for the rock legends as they continue to bridge generations of musical icons on their first full-length release in several years.

Jason Newsted swapped his massive bass rigs for an acoustic guitar this week to perform a private set for a very unique audience: the residents of the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter, Florida. The performance was part of the sanctuary's animal enrichment program, designed to stimulate curiosity and reduce stress for the more than 5,000 animals the facility rehabilitates annually. In a video shared by the sanctuary, the veteran metal musician is seen performing John Lennon’s "Imagine" while a gray fox named Grayson playfully jumps into his lap.

The event held a deep personal significance for the Newsted family. Jason’s wife, Nicole, revealed that Grayson the fox is a fellow survivor, having successfully battled throat cancer—the same disease Jason recently overcame. The sanctuary praised Jason and Nicole for their creative approach to animal care, noting that each animal responded differently to the rhythms and sounds. The performance comes as Newsted prepares to return to the road this summer with Jason Newsted & The Chophouse Band, where he will be headlining shows and supporting Blackberry Smoke.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are celebrating a major milestone this Saturday, May 9, marking the 20th anniversary of their ambitious ninth studio album, Stadium Arcadium. Released in 2006, the 28-track double album became a cultural phenomenon, securing the band their first-ever #1 spot on the Billboard 200 and eventually earning a four-times Platinum certification from the RIAA. The project swept the 2007 Grammys, taking home Best Rock Album and cementing its place as one of the definitive rock records of the 2000s.

The album's legacy is anchored by the massive success of its lead single, "Dani California," which reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100—the band's last appearance in the all-genre top 10. Follow-up hits like "Snow (Hey Oh)" and "Tell Me Baby" further showcased the intricate chemistry between Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith, and John Frusciante. For over a decade, Stadium Arcadium stood as the final document of Frusciante's second tenure with the group before his 2009 departure, though his 2019 return and the subsequent release of Unlimited Love and Return of the Dream Canteen have since added new chapters to that legendary partnership.

Ray Luzier recently returned to his alma mater, the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, to deliver a sobering reality check to the next generation of drummers. Reflecting on his journey from a Pennsylvania farm boy to a mainstay in Korn, Luzier emphasized that his career longevity is rooted in hard work and a strict "no drugs" policy—even when it cost him high-profile work. The drummer admitted that while he has been fired from "hugely famous" bands for refusing to party, his sobriety was exactly what secured his long-standing position with David Lee Roth.

During the talk, Luzier shared a legendary anecdote about "fake chugging" from a bottle of Jack Daniel's to fit in with Roth’s band, only for the frontman to eventually praise his sobriety, noting he wanted someone sober to "drive the ship." Luzier also reflected on the tragedy of substance abuse in the industry, recalling his time filling in for Stone Temple Pilots and witnessing the late Scott Weiland’s struggles. After 16 years in Los Angeles and six studio albums with Korn, Luzier now resides in Tennessee, urging young musicians to prioritize their health if they want a career that lasts decades.

Mötley Crüe is set to bring a rock-fueled spectacle to the American Idol stage this Monday, May 11, for the show’s massive season 24 finale. Amidst ongoing chatter regarding Vince Neil’s live vocal consistency, the band has enlisted significant backup in the form of country superstar and season 4 winner Carrie Underwood. While the specific setlist remains under wraps, fans are speculating a rendition of "Home Sweet Home," a track Underwood famously covered as the show's "send-off" song in 2009.

Underwood, a diamond-certified artist, is no stranger to the rock world, having previously collaborated with icons like Axl Rose and Papa Roach. Her inclusion adds undeniable vocal power to a three-hour finale that also features a diverse roster of performers, including Alicia Keys, Shinedown, Nelly, and En Vogue. The episode will culminate in the crowning of the next American Idol champion, chosen from finalists Keyla Richardson, Hannah Harper, and Jordan McCullough.

The estate of late Pantera and Damageplan guitarist Abbott "Dimebag" Darrell has lost its legal battle against Armadillo Distribution Enterprises, the parent company of Dean Guitars. The lawsuit, which was initially filed in 2021 by Darrell's longtime partner Rita Haney, alleged breach of contract, unauthorized use of the guitarist's image, and unpaid royalties. The estate had sought to regain control of the legendary guitarist's trademarked designs and "Dime" brand after a relationship with the manufacturer that spanned decades.

In a final ruling, the court found in favor of Dean Guitars, affirming that the company’s actions did not constitute a breach of the existing agreements. The decision marks a significant development in the ongoing efforts to manage the late musician's legacy and likeness. Following the initiation of the lawsuit three years ago, Darrell's estate had officially severed ties with Dean and announced a new partnership with Grady Champion and Gibson Guitars' brand Kramer to produce future Dimebag signature models.

Steel Panther is back with a brand-new track titled "The Mother’s Day Song," a comedic power ballad dedicated to moms everywhere. True to the band's signature style, the song blends soaring 80s-inspired riffs with their trademark irreverent humor, offering a "tribute" that only Steel Panther could deliver. The release is accompanied by a new music video featuring the band in full glam glory, celebrating the holiday with their usual over-the-top antics.

The single arrives as the band continues their extensive global touring schedule, further cementing their reputation as the premier parody-meets-party act in heavy metal. Frontman Michael Starr, guitarist Satchel, bassist Spyder, and drummer Stix Zadinia have once again leaned into the satirical charm that has built them a massive worldwide following. "The Mother's Day Song" is available now on all streaming platforms, providing a high-octane (and predictably R-rated) alternative to the traditional holiday playlist.

Shawn “Clown” Crahan has revealed that he is preparing for heart surgery to address a "skipping heart" and dangerously low heart rate. Speaking on the Tetragrammaton with Rick Rubin podcast, the Slipknot percussionist shared that his resting heart rate has plummeted to as low as 33 during the day, occasionally making him feel like he is "dying." The 56-year-old musician discovered the issue after the band's last tour when a nurse initially feared he was suffering a heart attack during an EKG attempt.

Despite the seriousness of the diagnosis, Crahan noted that the procedure is expected to be a routine corrective surgery involving his heart's electrical system. In a moment of reflection, he admitted he initially worried a pacemaker would force his retirement from Slipknot—only to be told the surgery would actually leave him feeling better and more capable of performing. "I can't get out of this to save my life," he joked, affirming that not even a heart condition can stop his journey with the band. Crahan also used the interview to pay tribute to late bandmates Paul Gray and Joey Jordison, crediting Gray as the reason he pursued a career in music over art.

Paul McCartney has officially collaborated with Ringo Starr for "Home to Us," marking the first formal duet between the two icons. The track is a centerpiece of McCartney’s forthcoming album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, which is scheduled for release on May 29. During a special playback event at Abbey Road Studios on May 5, McCartney revealed that the song explores their shared roots in Liverpool, specifically reflecting on Starr's upbringing in the "well hard" neighborhood of the Dingle.

The road to the duet was famously bumpy, involving several comical misunderstandings. McCartney shared that Starr was initially "a bit pissed" following a miscommunication with producer Andrew Watt, and later, when sent a demo, Starr only recorded vocals for the chorus. McCartney admitted he feared the drummer didn't like the song, but after a quick phone call to "clear the air," Starr returned to the studio to lay down full vocals and drum parts. The track also features backing vocals from Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri. This reunion follows their high-energy 2024 London stage appearance and their work on the final Beatles song, "Now and Then."

The band expressed their deepest apologies for the inconvenience caused to fans and confirmed that full refunds will be available at the original point of purchase. The cancellation puts an indefinite halt to a busy year for the 80s icons, who were set to visit major markets like Chicago, New York, Boston, and Atlanta. Mike D has officially stepped back into the musical spotlight with the release of "Switch Up," marking his debut as a solo artist. The track represents the first new music from any member of the Beastie Boys since their 2011 album, Hot Sauce Committee Part Two. Born from experimental sessions at his home studio, the single is a collaborative effort featuring his sons, Skyler and Davis Diamond, and their band Very Nice Person. The genre-blurring track—mixing hip-hop, funk, and rock—was produced by Carter Lang and Very Nice Person, and mixed by the acclaimed Derek “MixedByAli” Ali.

The single’s arrival follows a series of unannounced pop-up performances at unconventional venues, including a surf shop and a women’s club. Mike D premiered "Switch Up" during a sold-out show at Los Angeles’ Plaza Nightclub & Dance Hall on Thursday night. To support the release, he has scheduled additional intimate dates at Sid the Cat Auditorium in South Pasadena on May 10, followed by a two-night stint at Xanadu Roller Arts in Brooklyn on May 22 and 23.

The track features a guest vocal appearance by Lilith Czar (Juliet Simms), marking a poignant collaboration between Biersack and his wife. Alex Terrible made history yesterday at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, by stepping into both the ring and onto the stage for the first-ever Blood4Blood event. A collaboration between Danny Wimmer Presents and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, the event saw the Slaughter To Prevail vocalist attempt the unprecedented feat of competing in a bare-knuckle fight and performing a deathcore set on the same day. While Terrible was unsuccessful in his bout against Camreon “The Bull” Delano—bringing his personal record to 2-2—he remained high-spirited, telling fans, "I’m scared literally of everything, but I try to fight my fears."

Despite the physical toll of the fight, Terrible confirmed he is ready to continue his busy schedule, reassuring fans that he will bring "100% energy" to his upcoming appearances at Welcome to Rockville and Sonic Temple. The event also featured a heavy-hitting musical lineup including Black Label Society, Crowbar, and Malevolence. No Doubt officially kicked off their highly anticipated residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas last night, delivering a high-octane performance fueled by 90s nostalgia. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough album, Tragic Kingdom, the band leaned heavily into their 1995 landmark release, performing the title track for the first time in over 15 years. The massive venue was transformed into a "twisted theme park" through the Sphere’s immersive visuals, featuring digital rides named after the band's biggest hits and a collage of yearbook photos during their cover of Talk Talk’s "It's My Life."

In a historic moment, the residency makes No Doubt the first band fronted by a woman to headline the state-of-the-art venue. The setlist offered a deep dive for longtime fans, including a performance of "The Climb" for the first time since 1997, alongside staples like "Spiderwebs," "Don't Speak," and a triumphant finale of "Just a Girl."

Def Leppard is currently sitting on a massive treasure trove of new music, with frontman Joe Elliott revealing that the band has 17 or 18 songs already in the works. Speaking with France 24, Elliott confirmed that the legendary rockers have essentially recorded two albums' worth of material, with plans to narrow down the tracklist for a primary release in early 2027. The band has been utilizing a flexible, remote recording method that allowed them to track parts everywhere from hotel rooms to the basement of the theater during their recent "Live at Caesars Palace" residency in Las Vegas.

The creative surge follows the January release of their "uplifting" new single "Rejoice," a track written specifically to serve as a high-energy live opener. Beyond the studio, the band remains a force for good, recently releasing a cover of "Stand By Me" for the Netflix film Bank Of Dave 2 to benefit California fire relief. With guitarist Vivian Campbell officially in remission following a bone marrow transplant, the band is operating at full strength as they prepare to usher in this next prolific chapter of their career.

Fred Durst has lent his iconic vocals and presence to a new remix of Lauren Sanderson’s rap-rock anthem, "COME SAY SUM." The collaboration sparked organically after Durst noticed the track on social media, which—along with its original music video—paid homage to Limp Bizkit’s 1999 classic "Break Stuff." Sanderson, who jokingly dubbed the aesthetic "Lez Bizkit," described the partnership as a "serendipitous collision" created by the universe.

The original version of the track will appear on Sanderson's upcoming album, LAUREN, set for release on May 29. The momentum from the collaboration has already translated into major live opportunities; Sanderson has been tapped as the opening act for Limp Bizkit’s back-to-back shows at The Truth in Nashville on October 11 and 12. Fans can watch the new video now to see Durst and Sanderson bring their shared "magic" to the high-energy remix.

DragonForce has announced a major lineup shift with the addition of Alissa White-Gluz as co-lead vocalist alongside Marc Hudson. The former Arch Enemy frontwoman joins the power metal legends just in time for their 20th-anniversary celebration of the seminal album Inhuman Rampage. Fans will get their first look at the new vocal duo this Saturday, May 9, when the band takes the stage at Welcome to Rockville in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Co-founder and guitarist Herman Li expressed his excitement about the new dynamic, stating that White-Gluz "makes all aspects of our music better" and brings a fresh inspiration to the band's tenth studio album, which is currently in development. White-Gluz, who stepped away from Arch Enemy earlier this year after a decade-long run, noted that the move allows her to showcase "all the colors" of her voice within DragonForce’s technically challenging and high-energy arrangements. This new era marks a bold expansion for the band as they honor their past while charging toward a decade of new music.

P.O.D. has officially finished work on their twelfth studio album, swapping their Southern California roots for the historic streets of South Philadelphia. In a new interview with SWOMP, the band confirmed they recorded the entire 14-track project in just 12 days at Memory Music Studios with producer Will Yip (Turnstile, Quicksand, Code Orange). Moving the operation to the Whitman section of Philly allowed the band to pull 12-hour shifts away from the distractions of home, a move bassist Traa Daniels said was essential for getting "out of our element."

Guitarist Marcos Curiel noted that the partnership with Yip was a natural fit, citing the producer's background with hip-hop label Ruffhouse Records as a perfect complement to P.O.D.'s signature sound. "He wasn't trying to change us," Curiel explained. "He was like, 'This is what P.O.D. is. Let's try to enhance that and make it fresh.'" Frontman Sonny Sandoval added that Yip’s genuine fandom and infectious energy provided a massive creative boost. Following the chart success of 2024’s Veritas, this new record promises to maintain that momentum with a "dope" energy inspired by the culture and vibe of the City of Brotherly Love.

Underoath is trading arena stages for the tight, sweat-soaked energy of independent clubs this summer with the announcement of "The Van Tour To Vans Warped Tour." Presented by Vans, the run kicks off June 8 in Jacksonville and will see the band traveling across the country in a van just as they did in their earliest days en route to their headlining slots at Vans Warped Tour in Washington, D.C., and Long Beach. Joining them for these rare, intimate performances is special guest HELD.

Guitarist Tim McTague and keyboardist Chris Dudley both expressed a deep desire to reconnect with the "magic" of small-room energy and the camaraderie of life on the road without the luxuries of modern touring. "The idea of doing that every night will be exciting or terrifying or both," McTague noted, emphasizing that these are likely the smallest shows the band has played since 2002. With three Grammy nominations and a legacy built on challenging the status quo, Underoath continues to lean into creative tension rather than safety. Tickets for these once-in-a-lifetime shows are available now, offering a final chance to see the post-hardcore legends in a setting that may never be repeated.

Motionless In White is returning to their shadows with the announcement of their seventh full-length album, Decades, arriving July 17 via Roadrunner Records. To celebrate the news, the quintet has unleashed a lyric video for the blistering new single "Playing God," which features a guest appearance by Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor. Vocalist Chris Motionless described the track as a commentary on the toxicity of modern internet culture, noting that Taylor's aggressive contribution helps fuel the song's "angry and resistant" energy.

The upcoming album serves as a definitive look at the band's 20-year evolution, blending their roots in metal and gothic industrial with a heavier, more aggressive sound. Recorded in upstate New York and Los Angeles with producers Drew Fulk and Justin "JD" deBlieck, Decades also features guest spots from Skylar Grey and Dark Divine’s Anthony Martinez. Despite their rise to arena-headlining status, Chris Motionless emphasizes that the band hasn't gotten comfortable, promising that the new record preserves the theatrical and emotional heart of where they began while pushing into uncharted territory.

Netflix is doubling down on heavy riffs and dark atmospheres for the second season of Devil May Cry. The streaming giant has unveiled a 12-track soundtrack that serves as a distorted love letter to the peak of the nü-metal era, featuring heavyweights like Korn, Evanescence, Papa Roach, and Drowning Pool. The full collection is scheduled to drop just ahead of the new season’s premiere on May 12, anchored by a new collaboration between Papa Roach and Hanumankind titled "See U in Hell," which is set to arrive later this week.

The soundtrack leans heavily into early 2000s nostalgia but twists it through a modern, cinematic lens. Synth-wave duo Power Glove returns to the series to provide several high-profile reworks, including remixes of Korn’s "Freak On A Leash" and Papa Roach’s "Getting Away With Murder." Evanescence fans will also find plenty to dig into, as the tracklist includes the classic band version of "My Immortal" alongside a separate Amy Lee feature, "Meet Me in the Afterlife (Power Glove Remix)." By blending legacy hits with industrial, synth-heavy production, the soundtrack aims to mirror the stylish, high-octane action the series is known for.

Mötley Crüe and Shinedown are bringing some heavy-hitting energy to the mainstream stage as they prepare to perform on the upcoming season finale of American Idol. The three-hour event, scheduled to air May 11 on ABC (streaming the next day on Disney+ and Hulu), features a massive lineup that reads more like a festival bill than a reality show. The two rock giants will share the stage with a diverse roster of guests, including Alicia Keys (serving as a mentor), Brad Paisley, Nelly, En Vogue, and 90s favorites Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms.

The appearance comes at a pivotal time for both bands. Mötley Crüe is gearing up for their "The Return of Carnival of Sins" summer tour, celebrating their 45th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of their original 2005-06 trek. Meanwhile, Shinedown is riding high on the momentum of their upcoming eighth studio album, Ei8ht, set for release on May 29. With a historical 22 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart already under their belt, Shinedown’s appearance on the finale serves as a high-profile kickoff to their massive "Dance Kid Dance Act II" world tour.

Megadeth guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari is throwing his support behind the growing trend of phone-free concerts, calling the use of Yondr pouches a "great idea" to improve the live experience. In a new interview with Chile's Sonar FM, Mäntysaari noted that removing the distraction of glowing screens allows the audience to "really get to concentrate on the music" and fosters a more direct connection with the performers. He pointed to the success of artists like Ghost, Iron Maiden, and Tool who have recently implemented similar policies to curb constant filming and selfies.

The guitarist revealed that Megadeth already experimented with the technology during a private VIP listening session in Nashville for their latest self-titled album. While acknowledging the trade-off of fans not being able to share their own clips, Teemu suggested that having a professional media crew handle the content allows fans to enjoy the moment while still having social media memories later. As Megadeth continues their massive farewell tour, the band is recording every show with hopes of a major live release in the future.

Greta Van Fleet has sent their fanbase into a frenzy following the release of a mysterious 50-second video titled "Thanks for the Wild Ride." Uploaded to YouTube on Monday, the clip features a montage of nostalgic footage documenting the band's meteoric rise from Michigan club stages to global arena headliners. The video concludes with a simple, personal sign-off in the description: “Thanks for the wild ride. Love, Josh, Jake, Sam & Daniel,” referencing the Kiszka brothers and drummer Danny Wagner.

While the reflective tone has led many to speculate that the band is announcing a hiatus or a permanent split, others believe it could be a savvy marketing move to signal the end of the Starcatcher era and the beginning of a new chapter. Adding to the uncertainty, guitarist Jake Kiszka has been busy with his side project, Mirador, which released its debut album last year. Since bursting onto the scene in 2017 with "Highway Tune," the band has been a polarizing yet undeniably successful force in modern rock, winning a Grammy for From the Fires and releasing three full-length studio albums. Whether this is a final goodbye or a "see you later," the rock world is officially on high alert.

The touring industry has a new name for its current struggle: Blue Dot Fever. The phrase, a reference to the sea of blue dots representing unsold seats on Ticketmaster seating maps, is being used to describe the wave of tour cancellations and postponements hitting major artists in 2026. This week, Post Malone, Meghan Trainor, and The Pussycat Dolls became the latest high-profile acts to pull back on North American dates, citing the "mysterious illness" of low ticket sales as the primary driver.

While the reunion of The Pussycat Dolls was highly anticipated, the band recently announced they would be focusing on their European leg, effectively canceling their North American run due to the "fever." Industry insiders suggest that a combination of high ticket prices, venue oversizing, and a crowded summer market has led to the current "recalibration." While major headliners are feeling the sting, some experts believe the shift could create room for smaller and independent artists to reclaim venue space as the industry works to find a more sustainable balance for fans' wallets.

The Rolling Stones are officially keeping the momentum of their "vibrant new era" alive. Today, the band announced their highly anticipated new studio album, Foreign Tongues, which is set to arrive on July 10 via Capitol Records. Coming less than three years after the Grammy-winning success of Hackney Diamonds, this new 14-track collection was recorded in a "concentrated punch" of under a month at Metropolis Studios in West London with producer Andrew Watt. To kick things off, the band released the infectious lead single "In the Stars" digitally today, alongside the raw opening track "Rough and Twisted."

The album promises a mix of high-profile collaborations and deep emotional history, featuring guest appearances from Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith of The Cure, and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Most notably, the record includes a special appearance from the late Charlie Watts, captured during one of his final recording sessions. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood are scheduled to attend a formal media launch for the project later today in Brooklyn. Fans who have been hunting for the mysterious "The Cockroaches" white label vinyl recently discovered that the track was actually an early teaser for this new chapter in the Stones' unparalleled legacy.

Five Finger Death Punch is marking two decades of dominance with a massive 20th-anniversary world tour, officially announcing the European leg for early 2027. The trek features a heavyweight lineup with special guests Lamb of God, who are currently touring behind their new album Into Oblivion, and Scottish breakout act Bleed From Within. The 21-city run kicks off in Manchester on January 16, 2027, and follows the band's initial 2026 North American leg, celebrating a journey that began with their 2005 formation and the 2007 release of The Way Of The Fist.

Founding guitarist Zoltan Bathory described the band as a "battleship" that continues to grow, promising a setlist that blends classic No. 1 hits with material from their tenth studio album, which is expected to drop later this year. The tour also highlights the band's recent chart-topping success with re-recorded versions of their catalog, including the history-making single "The End" featuring BABYMETAL. Presales for most dates begin tomorrow, May 6, at 10:00 AM local time, with general ticket sales launching Friday, May 8.

Today we celebrate the 67th birthday of Steve Stevens, one of the most innovative and stylistically diverse guitarists in rock history. Born Steven Bruce Schneider on May 5, 1959, in New York City, Stevens became a household name as the sonic architect behind Billy Idol’s biggest hits. From the iconic ray-gun effects on "Rebel Yell" to the Grammy-winning soaring leads of the "Top Gun Anthem," Stevens’ ability to blend hard rock, flamenco, and electronic textures has made him a true original in the pantheon of guitar heroes.

It has been a landmark year for the guitarist, who spent much of the spring alongside Idol for their first-ever official acoustic duo tour, Turned On, Tuned In and Unplugged. The intimate run highlighted Stevens' technical dexterity and mastery of the nylon-string guitar, proving that his playing is just as powerful without the stack of amplifiers. Fans can catch him back in full-throttle mode this summer and fall as Billy Idol’s massive world tour continues, including high-profile stops at The Pavilion at Montage Mountain on August 7 and a five-night residency at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas in late August.

Happy Birthday, Steve keep the ray guns firing!

Frontman Rory Rodriguez led the charge with raw vulnerability, moving from the atmospheric weight of tracks like "Shapeshift" to an intimate, pin-drop piano rendition of "Ghost of You." The Tulsa Police Department managed to mix a bit of rock-and-roll wit with their police work this week, announcing that the suspect in a major equipment heist was officially "Click Click" arrested. The clever nod to the classic Saliva anthem came after officers successfully tracked down a stolen trailer containing approximately $50,000 worth of gear belonging to Josey Scott (The Original Voice of Saliva). The trailer was snatched from a driveway on April 28, but the suspect didn't stay under the radar for long.

In a move that could only be described as a bold choice, officers located 47-year-old Jason Wofford on May 1st wearing a "Josey Scott" t-shirt. After serving a search warrant, police discovered guitars, drums, and boxes of merchandise hidden at the property. Wofford eventually led detectives to the trailer itself, which had been stashed in rural Pawnee County. While the police department clearly enjoyed the opportunity for a music-themed pun, the result was serious business: the gear was returned to the band at the Riverside Division, and the suspect was booked into Tulsa County Jail for Grand Larceny.

Today we celebrate the 54th birthday of Mike Dirnt, the powerhouse bassist and co-founder of Green Day. Born Michael Ryan Pritchard on May 4, 1972, Dirnt has spent over three decades as the rhythmic backbone of the punk rock movement. From the frantic, walking basslines of Dookie to the massive, stadium-sized anthems of American Idiot, his distinctive tone and melodic sensibility helped propel Green Day to over 75 million records sold worldwide.

It continues to be a busy year for the rock icon. Recently, Dirnt was seen performing with The Coverups at a special afterparty for the Notes & Words event at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Additionally, the band is gearing up for the upcoming release of their new film, Nimrods: A Green Day Story. The comedy, which Dirnt co-produced and appears in, captures the band's scrappy pre-fame years and is set to launch at the Cannes Film Market later this month. Whether he’s rocking a surprise club set or producing feature films, Dirnt remains one of the most influential figures in modern rock.

Happy Birthday, Mike!

Korn reached deep into their 90s vault during their May 2nd performance at the Colisseo MedPlus in Bogota, Colombia, shocking fans with a massive setlist rarity. During the encore, the nü-metal pioneers segued from their hit "A.D.I.D.A.S." into a cover of Black Sheep’s 1991 track "U Mean I’m Not." The performance marks the first time the band has played the gangsta rap parody since June 1996, ending a nearly 30-year hiatus for the track.

The Bogota show served as the high-energy kickoff for the band’s Latin American tour this month. Prior to being shelved in the mid-90s, the cover was a staple of the band’s early chaotic club sets, but it had not been documented live since a performance in Seattle during the Life Is Peachy era. The revival of such a rare piece of band history suggests Korn may be leaning into their heritage as they continue their run through South and Central America.

During a May 1st appearance at The Villages retirement community in Florida, Donald Trump doubled down on his connection to the Village People’s disco staple, “Y.M.C.A.” Trump claimed that his signature rally dance moves were the driving force behind the song’s return to the top of the charts in late 2024. “It went to No. 1 for months during the last months of the campaign,” Trump told the crowd, asserting that his use of the track gave it a second life more than forty years after its original release.

While Trump’s specific timeline of the song's chart history was a bit loose, the track did hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart for two weeks in November 2024. Village People founder Victor Willis even acknowledged the boost last year, thanking Trump for the exposure which led to a significant spike in sales. However, the President admitted that the routine doesn't have fans in his own home, noting that First Lady Melania Trump often asks him to stop. “She goes, ‘Darling, please don’t dance. It’s not presidential,’” Trump joked, before adding that his poll numbers seem to suggest the voters feel differently.

Today we celebrate the 62nd birthday of the undisputed "King of Thrash," Gary Holt. From founding the Bay Area’s legendary Exodus to his decade-long tenure carrying the torch for the late Jeff Hanneman in Slayer, Holt’s frantic, hyper-precise alternate picking has become the gold standard for heavy metal guitarists.

It has been a massive year for Holt, who recently oversaw the successful launch of the twelfth Exodus studio album, Goliath, on March 20. The record, which marked the return of fan-favorite vocalist Rob Dukes, has been hailed as one of the band's most collaborative and crushing efforts to date. In addition to his work with Exodus, Holt is keeping busy on the festival circuit, including a high-profile appearance at Rocklahoma and the upcoming Sick New World Texas festival in October. At these select Slayer appearances, Holt and the band are slated to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the thrash masterpiece Reign In Blood by performing the album in its entirety. Whether he's melting faces in a club or on a festival stage, Gary Holt remains a vital, relentless force in the metal community. Happy Birthday, Gary!
