Former Philadelphia Eagles Star Mekhi Becton Seeks Kidney Donor for His Mom

Former Philadelphia Eagles player Mekhi Becton, who recently signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, is seeking help for his mother, Semone Becton, who needs a kidney transplant.

Becton took to social media, stressing the urgency of his mother’s health situation. “If anyone can help, please, please, please let me know!!!!” he said.

Becton’s cry for help has received support from Chargers and Eagles fans. They have rallied on social media to extend well wishes to Mekhi Becton and his family and share information about how to get tested to determine if one could be a potential organ donor match. According to an SI report, Semone Becton has a B positive blood type.

The Health Resources & Services Administration’s organdonor.gov website notes that approximately 6,500 living organ donation transplants take place every year. Approximately 85% of people on the organ transplant waiting list, like Semone Becton, need a kidney donation.

More information about becoming a living organ donor can be found at organdonor.gov.
