Green Day Kick Off ‘Revolution Radio’ Tour & Announce Rescheduled Shows

The road just got a little more rocking! Green Day are back, kicking off their first string of dates in support of their upcoming Revolution Radio album. The band opened their tour in Columbus, Ohio Monday night (Sept. 26), a few days later than expected after illness among band and crew members necessitated the rescheduling of a handful of shows.

The band didn’t wait long to break out new material, as they opened the show with “Bang Bang” (seen in the fan shot video above) and “Revolution Radio,” giving each song their live debuts. The other new song to make its debut, as least as performed by the full band, was “Ordinary World,” which turned up as part of the acoustic portion of the encore alongside “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).”

On top of well known hits and a few deeper cuts, Green Day also played a rapid-fire covers medley of “Shout,” “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and “Hey Jude.” Green Day will continue their run of shows at these stops.

As stated above, Green Day had to reschedule several dates due to illness. The Chicago show at the Aragon Ballroom is now on schedule for Oct. 23, with Detroit’s show at the Fillmore booked for the following night (Oct. 24) and the St. Louis gig at the Pageant now being the final date of the tour leg on Oct. 26. Tickets for the original performances will be honored at these shows.
