Lady Gaga showed up in a relatively tame outfit on Tuesday night, but got the adventure off to a colorful start with some bleeped profanity about the traffic situation, which led to an impromptu rendition of Ludacris’ “Move Bitch.” After the pair cruised through “Perfect Illusion,” off her just-released album, Joanne, they also performed a reenactment of the NFL’s call to Gaga, asking her to be the Super Bowl halftime act. (More profanity.) Corden then picked up a few tips about how to properly sing “Bad Romance” — the ro-mah ro-mah-mah is part of the word “romance” before the song was performed with gusto and proper hand choreography.

Turns out, Gaga just got her driver’s license (“It was so embarrassing, my whole family came with me to the DMV,” she noted), prompting Corden to let her take the wheel. (A large driving hat was donned by Gaga.) “Have you learned the hand signals to drive in New York?” he asked, to which she quipped, “Yeah, this one,” while flipping the bird and driving not so smoothly. (A helmet was then donned by Corden.) What followed next were performances of “The Edge of Glory,” “Born This Way” (featuring some nice harmonizing), a tentative rendition of O-Town’s “Liquid Dreams” (“It’s basically a song about ejaculating in our sleep,” noted Corden), “Poker Face,” and “Million Reasons.” In short, she committed to the bit — and sang a lot louder than Britney Spears.

Other topics discussed: Gaga keeps the 400 pieces of Michael Jackson memorabilia she bought at auction in a temperature-controlled room, she wrote “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” and “Born This Way” each in 10 minutes, and her favorite outfit was the Alexander McQueen dress she wore to the VMAs (the same night she also rocked the meat dress).

Speaking of sartorial choices, it was Corden who truly dressed to impress, busting out a montage of classic Gaga costumes, including a poor man’s version of the meat dress and police tape get-up, as you can see in the video above.
