Michael Anthony has spent the bulk of his career as of late as the bassist of Sammy Hagar’s band The Circle. When it comes to playing alongside former bandmate David Lee Roth, however, he hasn’t ruled out that option completely.

In an appearance on The Jeremy White Podcast, Anthony said, “When he did his residency stuff in Las Vegas out here. It turned out where I couldn’t it anyway; I think Sammy, we had something going on with The Circle. But I was actually going to show up and see about going up onstage and jamming with Dave.”

Anthony continued, “I’ve got no beef with any of the guys about any of that stuff. At this point in the career and my life, it’s, like, hey, I’ll play it all. I’m sure if it came up, if it was the right situation, let it happen.”

Anthony is also open to performing at an Eddie Van Halen tribute show whenever that eventually happens. He took part in an interview alongside Sammy Hagar back in January and said,  “We’ve got to celebrate the music — so much good music.”

Hagar said, “It’s gotta happen. Of course, it’s gonna happen. No one’s really connected all the dots with everyone involved, but I have been told, and I have read interviews with various people involved — with Wolfie [Wolfgang Van Halen] and Valerie [Bertinelli] and Eddie’s wife [Janie] that he was married to at the time — they all said as soon as this is over, we’re gonna get everybody together and do a tribute or whatever. Just a ‘thank you,’ a goodbye, a send-off.”
