Hanson (yes, the “MMBbop” boys) are working on their seventh studio album, and the latest offering from it features Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick helping out on guitar.
The three brothers’ harmonies carry this bright and breezy power-pop track. Rick adds some edge with a solo around the 2:30 mark. In the video, it’s executed by Isaac Hanson, who dons Rick’s signature hat against a checkered backdrop to fully evoke the “California Man”:
Hanson said on Instagram: “Don’t Ever Change is about the madness and beauty that love brings. We are honored that legendary @cheaptrickrick agreed to lay down a guest solo and bring the song to a whole new level.”
Their new album Against the World is expected to be out later this year. While we wait for that, look Isaac, Taylor and Zac in a nesting doll near you, and catch Rick Nielsen on stage with Cheap Trick at MMRBQ in September.
