Jessica Springsteen Fails to Qualify in Olympic Equestrian Jumping Final

Jessica Springsteen, member of the United States Olympic Equestrian team and daughter of Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, failed to qualify for the Equestrian Jumping final.

Per ESPN, “The 29-year-old’s Olympic debut was off to a strong start on the 14-jump course before her horse got uneasy around the 11th obstacle, and the pair earned four penalty points for knocking down a rail. That put her on the bubble of the 73-horse field for one of 30 spots in the final. She was formally eliminated about an hour after riding.”

Jessica still has another opportunity to medal at the Tokyo Olympics. On Friday (August 6), she will be taking part in the Jumping team event with three other riders from Team USA.

As previously reported, Jessica and her horse, Don Juan van de Donkehoeve, were named to the United States’ Olympic Equestrian team back in July along with riders Kent Farrington, Laura Kraut and McLain Ward.
