Code Orange are taking no prisoners. The industrial metallers debuted the track “Out For Blood” today (11/11) with a video that’s heavy on the hemoglobin.
The crimson-soaked clip is a pivot from the band’s icy blue motif of their 2020 album Underneath. Pulse-pounding rhythms channel Rob Zombie as they tear up the stage in a mysterious club, reveling in the bloodshed that ensues. This is the group’s first video to feature newly anointed drummer Max Portnoy (who you may recognize from Tallah).
Code Orange are known for their abrasive and complex sound, but with producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance) at the helm, “Out for Blood” is more approachable, positioning the band to break through to a whole new wave of fans – thinners of the herd, if you will.
Code Orange have created dazzling livestreams and 3D visuals over the course of the pandemic, and the band just polished off a Knotfest run with a stadium gig supporting Slipknot. When asked how much of all that will translate to the next tour, frontman Jami Morgan explained to Sara: “We’re going to basically push it to the complete limit of what is remotely affordable. We create all our own visuals, and we create all our own merch… We’re not paying people for content. We build all of our own stuff, a lot of the props you see on stage… If you want to make it happen you’ve just got to do it. When we go on tour, we’ll do absolutely as much as we can.”
