Rolling Stones Honor Charlie Watts on First Anniversary of His Death

The Rolling Stones took a moment to honor Charlie Watts today (August 24) on the first anniversary of the drummer’s death.

The band shared across their social media channels the video below. The clip was captioned, “One year on without our beloved Charlie. Remembering him and all the incredible things he achieved in his life.” The video features images and footage of Watts throughout his career set to “You Got Me Rocking.”

The Stones, themselves, shared tributes to their personal social media accounts. Mick Jagger shared a video comprised of various photos of Watts set to “Till the Next Goodbye.” The video features an audio clip of Jagger talking about Watts saying, “I miss Charlie because he had a great sense of humor. Outside of the band, we used to hang out quite a lot and have a lot of interesting times. We liked sports. We’d go to football and cricket games. We would have other interests apart from music. I really miss Charlie so much.”

Ronnie Wood shared a series of photos along with the caption, “Charlie, missing you every single day. Shirley, Seraphina and Charlotte, we hold you close in our hearts.”
