Nikki Sixx was apparently bored over the weekend and decided to criticize Taylor Swift on Twitter. To the surprise of no one, Sixx’s mentions took a hit.
Sixx tweeted out, “Is it just me or does Taylor Swift always seems like she’s whining about something new every time she’s gonna drop an album? #WorIsMeMarketing.” (Note: Sixx likely meant #WoeIsMeMarketing.)

Sixx seems to be a bit behind on the news as to why Swift is “whining about something.” Last week, Ticketmaster appeared to have botched the pre-sale for Swift’s upcoming tour selling too many tickets during the pre-sale promotions and being forced to cancel the general sale period of the tour.
Swift issued a statement via her Instagram Stories saying, in part, “There are a multitude of reasons why people had such a hard time trying to get tickets and I’m trying to figure out how this situation can be improved moving forward. I’m not going to make excuses for anyone because we asked them multiple times, if they could handle this kind of demand and we were assured they could. It’s truly amazing that 2.4 million people got tickets, but it really pisses me off that a lot of them feel like they went through several bear attacks to get them.” Following the debacle, The New York Times reported the United States Justice Department opened an investigation into Live Nation, the company that owns Ticketmaster, over whether or not Live Nation has abused its power over the live music industry.
As expected, Sixx’s replies were not very sympathetic to the Motley Crue bassist. One user wrote, “At least she stands up for her fans. Meanwhile, you do… what? Two of your gigs were cancelled here in Brazil and yet you haven’t issued a single official note about it? Give me a break.”
Another user wrote, “Ticketmaster really did mess that up. It’s not like people spent thousands on her ‘retirement tour’ tickets & then she toured again.”
One user took aim at the Crue’s album sales writing, “Jeez man, you gonna call her out? I mean your band is big and all but the wrath of the #Swifties is not something you want take on. She’s nearly doubled your record sales and she’s 1/3 of your age. Just seems petty on your end.”
Look, we’re not telling people what to do. However, if you’re going to go after a pop star with a massive, loyal fan base, don’t be surprised if they come after you.
