Country superstar Alan Jackson has launched Silverbelly Whiskey, a new premium spirit which has been distilled exclusively for, and personally selected, by the Country Music Hall of Fame inductee.

The spirit is named after the color of Jackson’s trademark hat, and has been created in partnership with Silver Screen Bottling Co. & DSP-KY-10. It’s available in 750ml bottles and is measured at 91 proof with 45.5% alc/vol. The aroma is that of brown sugar, sweet apple, cherry, and honey, and the taste is described as sweet, smooth, and spicy. On the mid-palate, it has bright fall fruits with a light, silky texture; the finish has soft caramelized oak tones blended with savory wood spice.

Silverbelly Whiskey is available to buy now in stores throughout Tennessee, and will be on sale in other states soon. It can also now be pre-ordered at silverbellywhiskey.com. The batch numbers of the whiskey will celebrate Jackson’s peerless career by reflecting each of his No.1 songs, ensuring that each bottle becomes highly collectible. The series begins with the first batch of Silverbelly which is named for his first hit, “Here In The Real World,” which he co-wrote with Mark Irwin. The song reached No.3 on Billboard’s Top Country Songs in 1990 and has remained a signature.

‘A subtle kiss of oak’

Jackson’s daughter, the sommelier and bestselling author Mattie Jackson Selecman, says: “Crafted in honor of classic, bourbon style whiskey, Silverbelly tips its hat to the spirit at the heart of this country. Its smooth texture and medium-light body make it perfect to sip neat at the end of a long day or to raise in a toast of celebration, mixed in your favorite Old Fashioned or Manhattan cocktail. With a subtle kiss of oak and traditional flavors of caramel, spiced apples, and toasty brown sugar, Silverbelly is as American as whiskey comes – a true taste of home.”

Silverbelly Whiskey is the presenting sponsor of Jackson’s new tour, Last Call: One More for the Road, which opens tomorrow in Biloxi, MS and concludes in Pittsburgh on October 8. Tickets are available at his website.
