Duran Duran will be providing an important reunion moment at the 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, singer Simon Le Bon was asked how he felt about former members/guitarists Andy Taylor and Warren Cucurullo being included with Duran Duran’s Rock Hall induction. (Taylor’s run with the band was from 1980-1986 and 2001-2006, while Cucurullo’s tenure ran from 1989-2001.) He responded, “I’ve been in contact with both Andy and Warren. They are both extremely excited and very, very grateful and honored in the same way that Nick [Rhodes], Roger [Taylor], John [Taylor], and I are as well. We’re talking about how we’re going to present ourselves on the night.”
As far as performing together, Le Bon added, “That is what we’re aiming for. I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t be able to do that. I’ve already had a definite yes from Andy. He’s definitely up for it. I’m pretty sure Warren will want to do it. … We’ve always maintained a decent relationship with these guys. We didn’t have so-called ‘acrimonious splits.’ It was gentlemanly and it was understood. And pretty much mutual.”
Along with Duran Duran, other member of the 2022 Rock Hall class in the performer category include Pat Benatar, Eminem, Eurythmics, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and Carly Simon.
The 37th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles with an edited version of the ceremony set to air/stream on HBO and HBO Max at a later date.
