Aurora Teams Up With Qing Feng Wu For New Single ‘Storm’

Norwegian singer and songwriter Aurora has joined forces with Taiwanese Mandopop singer and songwriter Qing Feng Wu for the epic collaboration “Storm.” The track arrives via Decca Records after more than a week of both artists building hype through teasers online.

Aurora and Qing Feng Wu began working on “Storm” in 2021 while the former artist was in the midst of creating her third studio album The Gods We Can Touch.Through their mutual admiration of each other’s work, the pair discovered they shared many musical interests and inclinations as well. “Storm” was developed from that creative revelation.

“I have long been amazed by her ethereal vocal power,” Qing Feng Wu shared in a statement. “It is beyond my expectation that we can be the storytellers of our own music together.”

“Storm” originated while the two artists worked remotely. During the post-production process of making the record, Aurora and Qing Feng Wu made a plan to connect at an in-person studio in Norway. Qing Feng Wu made the trip from Taipei to Oslo – a 20-hour flight – and locked into the studio to complete “Storm” alongside Aurora.

“Take me up and keep me high / Never let me go before you teach me how to fly / Take me up then keep me high / ‘Cause above the rain, above the clouds, it’s always bright / Hurricane, come again / Lift me up, forgive me, Earth / I’m going away,” the pair sing on the “Storm” chorus.

“Storm” was created with producers Howe Chen, Magnus Skylstad, and Wu Qing Feng. Wu Quin Feng and Aurora are credited as writers alongside Skylstad, Glen Roberts and Mei Yeh.

The record is largely defined by the presence of both artists’ ethereal sonic landscape. With Aurora’s alternative pop background and Quin Feng Wu’s history as a Mandopop singer and songwriter and frontman of the indie-band Sodagreen.
