Friday the 13th in Philly brought the Freak Show that is AVATAR and BABYMETAL. For some reason AVATAR was the support for BABYMETAL, a Japanese kawaii metal band.
AVATAR got the night ignited with their circus like stage setup, their constant headbanging and hair swirling antics. We were defintely feeling like AVATAR should be the headliner on this tour as they completely stole the show. Johannes and the crew stomped and strutted around the stage while playing some of the bands hits like “Hail the Apocalypse,” “The Eagles Has Landed,” and “SmellsLike A Freak Show.” AVATAR is one band you should definitly get out to see as they always put on one hell of a performance.

BABYMETAL , consists of Suzuka Nakamoto as “Su-metal” and Moa Kikuchi as “Moametal” stepped on stage in a single file line walking like they were gymnists entering the mat for their floor excersizes. For most of the night, they were in a basketball like 2-1 or a 1-2 zone dancing while Su-Metal (always the 1) sang the lyrics to their songs. The band was backed by stellar, live musicians that provided the heavy music they they sang and danced to. Sorry for the lack of BABYMETAL photos but we are only allowed to post these 4 approved photos.
