On December 11, Billie Eilish will have the unique honor of taking on hosting duties and perform on the Saturday Night Live stage.
Additionally, the show announced that Charli XCX will act as musical guest on the December 18 installment of the show, which will be hosted by Paul Rudd.
Earlier this month, Eilish honed her acting chops by appearing on Sesame Street.
She performed a delightful version of her hit single “Happier Than Ever” alongside The Count. In a fitting lyrical change, Eilish sings, “Come on let’s count to two,” as the numbers appear on-screen alongside her and the vampire puppet.
Eilish is one of many celebrity guests who has or will appear on the series’ upcoming iteration, which will also feature fellow musicians Anderson .Paak, Kacey Musgraves and Jon Batiste, actress Keke Palmer, poet Amanda Gorman, and tennis player Naomi Osaka.
USA Today confirmed that Eilish’s appearance on the show would feature the pop star sharing a scene with Sesame Street‘s number-loving vampire. Anderson .Paak, meanwhile, will perform a song written for the show’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day episode.
Sesame Street has welcomed many other artists to its neighborhood in recent years. Norah Jones was a previous guest, while last November, Maggie Rogers got its residents ready for bed with a song titled “It’s Nighttime”. Other musical guests have included Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and Chance the Rapper.
Last weekend, Eilish played the role of Sally in a Nightmare Before Christmas live-to-film concert that took place at Los Angeles’ Banc of California Stadium. Eilish performed “Sally’s Song” and a duet with Danny Elfman’s character Jack Skellington, “Simply Meant To Be”.
Along with the likes of Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo and Demi Lovato, Billie Eilish was also recently announced among the nominees for the 2021 People’s Choice Awards. With three nominations, Eilish is up for female artist of the year as well as Album of the Year for Happier Than Ever and Pop Special of the year for her documentary The World’s A Little Blurry.
