Billie Joe Armstrong Says He’s Renouncing His U.S. Citizenship

Over the weekend, Billie Joe Armstrong claimed that he was going to renounce his American citizenship. On stage at a Green Day concert at London Stadium in the U.K., he said “F— America,” after learning that the Supreme Court had overturned Roe V. Wade.

“I’m f—ing renouncing my citizenship. I’m f—ing coming here… [there’s] too much f—ing stupid in the world to go back to that miserable f—ing excuse for a country.” He added, “You’re going to get a lot more of me in the coming days.” He might have been referencing the fact that nearly every news outlet would report on his commentary. You can watch his (obviously NSFW) comments in the tweet embedded below.
