Billie Eilish First-Ever US Tour

Written by Sylvain Batut

As part of her “Don’t smile at me” tour, 15 year-old Billie Eilish took on the upper level of World Café Live in Philadelphia, Pa. The album was announced in July for her first EP and first ever US tour, which sold out.

Her track “Ocean Eyes” sent her into stardom. The song came out at the age of 15, and has over 19 million Spotify plays.

The crowd took over the small and cozy venue in this sold-out concert.

Billie received an intense and warm welcome from the young audience, who was clearly impatient to see her make her stage debut in the City of Brotherly Love. The crowd sang all her songs with her, starting with “Copycat” first, followed by “idon’twannabewithyouanymore”, “Watch”, and “Six Feet Under”. She communicated a wild and free spirit through her songs and dancing, which the crowd loved as the vibe of the concert kept growing intense.

Billie then performed a catching cover of “Hotline Bling” by Drake on which she played the ukulele, before introducing her brother Finneas O’Connell, when she sang her next track “Party Favor”. The crowd immediately fell in love with him, as he went on to perform his song “I’M IN LOVE WITHOUT YOU,” his first single. He co-wrote and produced some of her songs on her album.

Billie went on with her other songs “Bored,” “Listen and my boy,” “Hostage,” and a crowd’s favorite “Ocean Eyes.” Billie was in osmose with her fans, who kept singing all her songs with her, making the place shake and in her words “jump around”. That mutual love feeling was communicated through the various address she gave them, as she told them “You guys are loud and I love it”, “I love you”, “You’re an incredible crowd”.

With such a strong performance, she sang “Wish You Were Gay” and “Bellyache” for the encore, receiving one last time the cheers of a conquered audience.
