Fans are getting an up-close look at Sleep Token as the band continues their U.S. tour for their new album, *Even in Arcadia*. One person who has gotten close to the band is Johnny Franck, the former guitarist of Attack Attack!. He opened for Sleep Token during their European tour in 2024 with his project, Bilmuri.
Franck had the chance to meet Sleep Token’s mysterious frontman, known as Vessel. “He’s genuinely someone that I really love,” Franck says. “I enjoy him very deeply as a person.” Like Sleep Token, Bilmuri mixes different genres in their music. While Sleep Token’s sound is wrapped in an elaborate mythology, Bilmuri focuses on the ups and downs of life in the American Midwest.
Franck describes Bilmuri’s role in a Sleep Token show as comic relief in a dramatic movie. “When they asked us to join the tour, I thought it made perfect sense,” he recalls. “We provide a lighter vibe before Sleep Token’s heavy and emotional set. I think those two things go together really well.”
Touring with Sleep Token has also helped Franck feel more comfortable in larger venues. “At the end of the tour, we played London’s O2. I felt excited and nervous, but not daunted by the room like I did three weeks earlier,” he shares.
Sleep Token’s tour continues Tuesday in Lincoln, Nebraska.
