Former I Prevail vocalist Brian Burkheiser has announced that he can’t release new music due to an “unresolved dispute” with the band. Since leaving I Prevail in May, Burkheiser has been working on a solo project called Scatterbrain and has a single titled “Phases” set to drop this Friday. However, he shared on Instagram that he is being blocked from releasing “Phases” and other new music.
“I’m deeply disappointed, but I’m doing everything I can to move things forward,” Burkheiser wrote. He expressed gratitude to his family, friends, and fans for their support during this time.
I Prevail announced Burkheiser’s departure as a “mutual parting,” with longtime co-vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe stepping in as the new lead vocalist. Burkheiser later clarified that there is no bad blood with his former bandmates, but he felt he didn’t deserve how things ended.
Meanwhile, I Prevail is gearing up to release their new album, “Violent Nature,” on September 19. Fans are eager to see how both Burkheiser’s solo project and I Prevail’s new music will unfold in the coming months.
